i am thai going to puerto rico and have to transit at JFKit seems no problem but this is the first time for me i will arriving at JFK so early and have to wait for hours alone till check in time about early evening.im so nervous about.

If you are in the secured area where you get off the aircraft you will be fine. New York does have some very nice places, but it is wiser to remain in the airport. Everyone in that area has been screened and cleared. There is nothing to worry about. If you are still worried about anything, just sit at a Starbucks, sip coffee/hot chocolate, and ignore people that might make a fuss. Eat in the airport also. Some things will be marked up because that is just the way airports seem to be. Good Luck on your trip.

well just head on over to Belmont racetrack and make some money while you wait just cheek them bags no problem N.Y.C. IS GREAT It not that long of a taxi ride beets sitting in any airport for Pete's sake to bad you weren't going Thur s.f.o/ play some pai cow about a mile away

JFK is not a dangerous place. New York City, however, is quite dangerous.
