I've made some progress with symptoms that fall under CFS category. I think you should see if your library can find you a copy of "From Fatigued to Fantastic" by Teitelbaum, M.D. He has a website I believe. I'm going to copy and paste something I wrote for depression.
-----
anyone who is depressive should take a good multivitamin most days with a meal. while you are at it take a calcium-magnesium-zinc pill. I won't go in to detail here about why. just do it, it's not that expensive. also, get lots of beneficial fatty acids - the omega 3-6-9 stuff. you could take flaxseed oil and fish oil pills or eat lots and lots of olive oil. do shots of it. mmmmm.
then try getting lots of sunlight. get some vigorous cardiovascular exercise as often as you can. practise good posture and learn a little about basic yoga postures and t'ai chi warmups.
eat a varied very high protein, high fiber diet low in saturated fats and refined carbs. shun additives and preservatives. you want whole foods, not overcooked. eat green or colourful vegetables. eat tree nuts, eat fish, eat more fish, the more nutritious fruits (berries), herbs, and some WHOLE grains. don't eat sweets or drink sweet/sour drinks. instead eat fruit. diet really really really matters. it has a slow cumulative effect.
stay hydrated. this can be a matter of simply avoiding certain foods that dehydrate you. try to get plenty of regular, restful sleep.
that's all that comes to mind. you might wanna check if you notice any effect from ginseng pills. watch the caffeine, especially late in the day. good luck.

on top of all that, lately i am exploring certain amino acids as supplements but i'm not sure what to recommend. i think people are different. I am taking something called A-AKG (arginine alpha-ketogluterate) and feeling quite a bit better. Expensive though. The brand I use is NO2 by MRI. I've been looking for a cheaper substitute but have had 2 failures.

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 5 years ago (FMS falls within the CFS umbrella), it hasnt gone away but I deal with it better now. It takes time to work out what is the trigger points if you can.
I refused medication as I feel that it would be a downward slope for me. I went on to have a daughter 3 years ago even though I was told it would be difficult to conceive.
Try to stay positive, focus on the good things in life and small achievements you make. I still work full time, am a single parent to my daughter and socialise with friends when I can. Damn hard but I decided a long time ago it would not beat me. I find each day a battle but know I will come out a winner in the end.

I've been battling Chronic Fatigue Syndrome for 4 years now and when I got this system I was probably at the lowest point of my life. I had no energy at all and was in constant pain. I hated myself and hated the doctors who all shrugged it off and told me I just needed to take it easy or that I simply needed to have proper sleep!
This have completely changed my life. Barely 3 weeks on this system, and my brain fog and headaches are gone completely! I can now also manage to go for a 20 minute brisk walk without feeling exhausted.

My ex-husband had CFS after suffering from glandular fever.
He found regular Vit B12 injections markedly increased his energy levels.
He also found that tea/coffee/coke had a bad effect so gave up drinking them.
Berocca effervescent vitamin tablets also helped him through the day.
Plenty of rest is also essential - he found out the hard way that pushing yourself makes it worse. If you feel tired, rest if it is at all possible - apparently this will also lead to a quicker recovery.
Yes - he has now recovered from it, but the recovery was slow and gradual. I would have to say it was several years before he was back to how he was before his illness. The worst was the first year.
The biggest hurdle to recovery is gaining the understanding that you are not getting better quickly and being kind and receptive to your body when it says "enough".
