Scrooge was right, and that stupid movie nothing but a bunch of propaganda.

This year do something wise. Instead of Xmas cards and presents send a simple note. Here I've written it out for you, just cut and paste into your email:

Dear Deadbeats,
I'm getting older and finally wiser. The clock is ticking. If you ever expect to see your name mentioned in my Last Will & Testament you'll kick down some great presents this year and every year until death do us part. Attached is a list of my favorite things in decending order, the nearer to the top your present, the dearer to my heart you will be.

Happy Hollidays

How does this xmas law work on elderly with fixed incomes? I have never heard of it. Scrooge didn't like Christmas at all. Besides Christmas isn't just about the presents. Do something charitable.

Of coarse not , these days when every thing costs a bomb people should not expect automatic gifts, and any way most grand parents do not have much of an idea what the grand kids want let alone afford it, if you have not got it then you can not give it

I ended this farce several years ago by telling potential recipients of presents that I would be buying only for myself in future and they should do the same. Money and storage space saved.
