religion is for the weak minded who refuse to believe that they might be alone in this life, or are too scared to consider the possibility that when you die: thats it, game over

I dont think so. Every person wants religion, but Christianity is doing great Job only on basing on the Commandments given by Jesus the Lord, lifting up the people who have failed lives and who wants crutch.

Religion? I presume you mean Christianity, which is one of many religions. People who have failed lives are probably not Christians. Christianity is not a crutch, it's a way of life that is fulfilling and joyful, one which I have enjoyed for 20+ years.

Religion is for everyone, if they need a crutch or not. Never viewed religion as a crutch though. And I don't see how one would "get religion" , you either believe or don't believe, I think. But it is funny to me that many people blame religion for most of the bad in our world. But it is ironic that murderers, robbers, and drug dealers that get caught and go to prison, then, get religion, not all but most. In that sense it is a crutch, I guess.
But my point of that is that religion is blamed for causing the ills of the world, but those that do bad things then seek religion as a savior for what they have done. Just as the Muslim terrorists do things in the name of their religion, but seek forgiveness before they do it. I guess in that way it is a crutch for them too. Funny, though, that their religion tells them to not do bad things.

Religion has all kinds of reasons-good and bad.It has been used by the Spanish during new world times to convert the Indians so they would get the gold for the royals. It is used by a lot of con men to steal money. As with most institutions it has a corrupt side.

There's a lot of people on here that always answer these type questions as if they are so sure that God doesn't exist, and that we as the human race , are on this tiny planet spinning in a orbit, that if it was to move out of this orbit just a certain amount the whole world would be messed up , and if the moon were to come out of its orbit, the oceans would probably flood the entire surface of the earth, or who knows what, everything our lives this solar system is hang by a threat that if it should change just a degree , we are gone, and then you little smarties, your biggest concern is if you have gotten the latest itunes, any thing to keep your minds occupied from thinking about that one day you are going to die and you can sit and say all you want it don't bother you, or that you are sure you will just turn to fertilizer, you hope, just so you want have to face the Almighty God , because you know you have put him down, used his name in vain, and you will go to hell, so you think if you don't think about it , then its not true.....well it is true...and you will find out and ....you know about him so you want have the excuse," i didn't know about you," he knows about you,.....he knows all about you.......everything........

My life was pretty good from the beginning since I was a kid.I was already in faith with my religion. I think that my questioning and my testimony to what Ive experienced has lead me to come back to God. I am glad that Jesus died for my sins. Cause I would have found it hard to forgive myself for the hurt I have caused other people. Maybe even have been a stumbling block for others. But Jesus's death and resurrection is the purchase for our lives. Believe it or not.

No. Ideally religion is just a recipe/formula/guide line to help people find God. To bad some people don't just ask God, not some human.

I believe a spiritual journey of self discovery and your connection to God Source energy is paramount to inner happiness. You do not need to be in a 'religion' to experience healings with spirit.
There are Spiritual Teachers/Healers out there everywhere religious, spiritualsits, yogis and otherwise all doing what their hearts inspire them to do. Of course some promote 'themselves' not their 'services' one needs to be wary of that and go with what feels good as well as that which asimilates with our inner self.
Louise Hay, Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Doreen Virtue are the'failed lives' savers if ever there were. People whom feel 'religion' has failed them start with their books and get their own lives back without that crutch and they do it themselve, meet others like-minded and never look back.
They self-empower oneself and bring the truth back, re installing the lost Faith when really it was faith within themselves and the process of life, which is restored, but they restore it and rewrite their own life script.
People whom need a crutch need to do self work in order to find they do not need a crutch.
Having Options open to us all is a great benefit as long as one has freewill to discover those options....many people do not, rather think they do not.
This can be at any age, no one escapes needing a crutch, if we have not connected to our higher self at any stage of our life time, we will always remain dependant on 'something' outside of ourselves. Crutch or Crutchless haha...we still need to seek self within ;)
Those of us that say we dont need people at all, only God or Jesus or Whateva 'within there' are correct, we dont need people for that....but we do need people as we are socially civilised (ahem *I choose to only see a happy planet all rockn and a rolling)
One can only be truly happy when one is connected with the Divine. One can never really truly know all the answers...only one can go with what 'feels' right to oneself..
Religion or Spiritual Studies ie Meditation, Tarot, Holistic Healings, Energy Healing, Self Development, Enhancing hidden spiritual gifts the Divine Creator has given us....all of this leads to empowering ones life connecting to the Whole Source, tools of knowledge.
They are told that to have a good life they must follow this one path or that one path (always someone elses direction or perception of that direction).
Religion segregates people, causes too much 'stuff' and 'baggage' like judgement, guilt, and intolerance of eachother or even within their own structured environments. This can cause failed lives for a lot of people. They (religious leaders) still have not got it right. Sad. But they are still needed all has its place like everything else.
Anything that gives you self empowerment first and connects you to your higher source within, be it religion or no religion is for anyone interested with 'perceived' a failed life... or not, maybe one wishes to enhance it a bit more, like I did?
Failures are gifts of revelations, make your mistakes and learn from them, do not repeat same cycle..then you are just a victim of your own circumstances......plenty of them us there (been there too) but still victim is as perceived either by ourselves or others...and who are we to judge?
Love, Light & Laughter!
