I have a JVC hdd digital camcorder and don't use it that often but when i do the battery has ran out everytime !!! I have two batteries and always charge them up after use !!! Is it right that the batteries should run out even when not in use because they have been left for a while ??? It's annoying when i want to just film something at the spur of the moment and there is no power in them !!! It seem strange to me because this doesn't happen with other stuff like digi camera and MP3 player !!! Should this happen or is my equipment faulty ?

like a mobile phone battery it has what they call a shelf life . the battery can no longer hold a charge and it should be replaced to solve this problem you keep having . if the product isn't that old and still under warranty then return it to where you bought it and have them replace the battery for you free of charges. if the battery still continues too drain its self then something small and electrical in the cam corder is faulty so it will mean a second trip to the dealers to have the cam corder fixed or replaced

the exact same happens with our samsung camera, your batterys will power leak if left for a long time but should not if they are not conected to a device, at least not enough to be noticable
