when twisting drywall screws into my skull, should i use a flathead screw driver or a phillips and should i use flathead or panhead screws.

The type of screw is less important than the location.
Ensure you have consulted a good anatomy book, to ensure the desired effect on the brain. Apparently just above the eye is good for a DIY lobotomy.

Flathead screws will countersink better and give you a neater appearance. Phillip's head screws give you more control, especially when screwing into your head. Panhead screws should be saved for special occasions only; brass ones make a bold fashion statement.

i would say use the hex panhead type. less slippage. also, when drilling into your skull, you might want to try the 8 inch lag bolts. you'll be able to see them come out the other side. cool!

I would also go with the flathead screws - if you countersink them properly, your comb wont bump over them when you comb your hair.

If I were you I would try using a nail gun. Works faster.

use self tapping or use deck nails you cannot pull them out.
