It really depends on what place you're talking about. There are a lot of consumer websites set up for complaints but they don't seem to be very effective. You could try calling the Better Business Bureau and most states have links to the Attorney General's Office or even the District Attorney. The procedure is fairly drawn out but if this company has a reputation or several complaints going on at the same time, they will expedite the claim and take action.

Some companies that are notorious for screwing over their customers actually have websites set up by disgruntled employees for customers to complain about them. The first one that comes to mind is www.BestBuysux.org. You could look through these types of websites to find other disgruntled consumers in your area (have the store number handy if it is a chain) and use the information to go to the media. Sometimes it works to use the press to your advantage.

Good luck. I know how frustrating it can be to be treated unfairly by a retailer..

You could file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the complaints against the company are listed online.

Sounds like the BBB (Better Business Bureau) should have a 800 number listed in the yellow pages, or even a local number contact them and they will walk you through the process. Or you can contact your Attorney Generals Office Good luck and God bless

Sure, it's called the Better Business Bureau. You can file your complaint online or by phone or by mail. Their web site is:

http://www.bbb.org

They list all companies that have complaints against them.
