(-: Depends on the kind of popcorn, and how it's been treated. Dried out popcorn will give you a lot of wicked old maids, just lurking in the bottom of the popcorn bowl waiting to bust your chops.
Oh! I thought you meant unpopped popcorn in a cup of popped popcorn. Again, it depends. There are little kernels, and there are giant kernels. You could try weighing one cup of popcorn (without the measuring cup). Then weigh three kernels seperately, and average the amount. Then divide the cup weight by the average kernel weight to get the number of kernels.
Or you could just keep some little kids busy counting popcorn kernels all night. Should only take 'em three or four hours! Of course, then you'd only know how many kernels are in that ONE cup! YMMV on all the other cups.
