Probably the advertising mainly... but some differences in scent... most of us guys like citrus or more "alcoholy" scents as opposed to floral overtones... more likely men's go a bit heavier on anti-perspirant compounds.

Then again I shouldn't tell you it's a SECRET!!!!

This has been an ongoing myth since the "...pH balanced for a woman..." nonsense was begun in the late 1970's. It makes it sound like woman (or men) are dramatically different in body composition from one another, not true.

The typical active ingredient for anti-persperants is aluminum salts. Among all of the well-known brands, mitchum is the highest percentage aluminum salt-based antipersperant. It does have a slight "musky" smell about it, but nothing to write home about. Among the drug store brands, Certain Dri is the absolute highest aluminum salt-based antipersperant without a perscription. Certain Dri has absolutely no scent to it. I have to say to use this with caution.

For those wondering, Dry sol (drisol) is the highest percentage aluminum salt-based antipersperant out there requiring a prescription from a dermatologist.

The aluminum salt does have a slight scent which the men's scents seem to cover up better than the florals. Typically, men's products seem to work better because they contain more aluminum salts within.

Mens deodorant is balanced for a mans body chemistry and has a more "sports" scent while a woman's is a softer scent.

I am not sure there is a difference other than smell. I know I have run out of my deodorant before and used my g/f's Lady's Ban Roll on and it worked just fine. But I did smell kind of danty...lol

Fragrance, women - sweeter and men - muskier
PH
Women deodorants might contain less zirconium and
aluminium since men sweat easily.

i might say the only distinction may be the heady heady scent. they'd not promote a fancy one for adult males and a sporty one for females. The effectiveness of th product might could desire to be the comparable!!!

Men's go with the musky, 'alcoholic' smell but women's have a fresh zeal to theirs.
I guess it works for me though, it depends on what the opposite gender wants to smell on you.

Nothing except the purfumes they add. Men usually need strong colognes because they stink more than women.
