Yes I am dating a man with very high IQ. It's the most amazing thing that I've ever had. An important thing is that most high IQ people are lonely, since they kind of live in their own planet. So try your best to understand your bf.

Most people that score over 160 are by definition very weird. I personally havn't dated anyone with an IQ this high, however, I am ...almost one of them.
Only about 1 in 32000 people score that high. Of course they think differently and someone of average intelligence will probably feel out of place with them, but this depends greatly on personality and how they choose to reveal their intelligence. A number of people are fairly good at disguising it, or just act normal in general but have a great gift of intelligence.
And people need to shut up about this whole 'my IQ is 170+' thing. Right. On what test? There are no tests that are currently used and considered valid that test over 166 SD 15, so you're lying or your score was a childhood ratio IQ score (which are often not the best reflections of actual IQ.) If you actually scored over 170-175 on a high range test I could probably google you, so go on, give me your name. ;p
But I know you're lying.
A score of 175 is defined as being obtained by 1 in 3,500,000 people in a population. Even in massive cities like chicago, which attract intelligent people, you wouldn't expect to find more than 3-5 people with an IQ like this.

It seems this has become a forum to brag about one's IQ, I'm guessing my picking this up speaks for mine.
Of course people with high IQ take a different perspective on the world on occassion. But really, these IQ tests aren't all that reliable, cognition has certain aspects that these tests never touch on.
It doesn't matter if you can live with the introspective and withdrawn nature they try to hide with this facade of being sociable.
haven't dated anyone with higher IQ than me though, besides male and female cognition are to be considered seperately though at the very real risk of running into an angry mob of feminists and being accused as sexist.

I am involved with someone with an IQ higher than mine. Mine is 150, so I feel reasonably intelligent. I love talking to him and just observing his problem-solving abilities. I admire his intelligence and how he applies it.

I have a 172, but so what. You think different? Everyone thinks different, don't allow yourself to feel like he is more/better than you. Also remember that people with high I.Q.'s tend to be stunted socially, so when/if you meet his family, watch for the social cues they use to communicate, if he's used to them, he'll respond to them.
