hmm, some women are really after money.
But there are still good muslim and non muslims girls.

I know for example in Egypt for the parents of the bride it is important if the groom has house and financial stability. They might reject husband for their daughters if he is poor. Which is not good criteria.
For me the ideal muslim husband is a decent person who is keeping prayer and live as per Islamic laws, who treats his wife according to the Quran but NOT arabs traditions which unfortunatelly re high spread nowadays ( keeping in the house, slaping her or whatever)

Because they are gone far away from the Islamic teachings. Islam encourages and recommends to marry a religiously committed person. Financial security is necessary, but most women take it in different ways as to serve their purposes which are clearly notsupported by Islam.

The women's parents were looking for financial security of their daughter earlier. Now women have choice and independence.Maybe they err towards the wrong side in selection in their early youths when glittering is gold rather than character.

Both are important, in my opinion because they are hard to obtain in combination.

However, having said that, the more important one of the two is a good, kind, loyal and practicing "Mu'min" (believer).

Being a Muslim does not automatically qualify anyone to be a believing Muslim or Mu'min. They have to attain these qualifications through practice.

Your observation is correct. Most Islamic societies now went far away from Islamic teachings..but there are good signs for Islam's rebirth.

" this is only good when you want to marry an old lady, like Muhammad (pbuh) when he married his first wife. No, you are right. The values of the materialistic world are taking over us and we do not pay enough attention to our religious ones.
May Allah have mercy on us.
