It depends on which country you are in...Like Asian countries, you would have to be at least 5'5", slim, with good complexion. In US/Canada/Europe, you would have to be at least slightly taller about 5'8", slim and with good complexion. This is because, modeling is a very customized to the demands of the local market. Besides that, it is much easier for slim people to carry any kind of clothes rather that fleshy people. And those with good complexion would have less trouble at the makeup room. Some agencies do specialize in petit models (those between 5'0" - 5'4".

But if you are looking at becoming a photo model, height does not really matter because in the photo, people won't really know how tall you are but it helps being slim (as the camera will add another 10 pounds to the picture) and having a good complexion.

If you are looking at runways...they normally are at about 5'10".

It is an exciting but tiring choice of profession. Good luck!

There are really no strict rules. Kate Moss is only 5"7, which is considered really short for a supermodel, but look at her. As for weight, the views on that are starting to get looser. You can be a plus size model or a skinny model. And then there are commercial models and couture models, the possibilities are endless.

It depends what you want to do - some agencies are looking for models to be ethiopian looking - which is not helathy.
Some like the more regular looking girl -which we can all look at and and say - wow
There are a few that like their models to look like the real person - which is very exciting - but then comes the low side.
What type of model do you want to be - how bad do you want to model - do you have morals - do you have an opinion - do you have a mind of your own.

If you are a opinionated person and are happy with your lot and want other to see that what you have is reguala and pretty and you want to show it off to the modelling agencies around then - GO FOR IT GIRL - AND MORE POWER TO YOU.
If all models said - right- this is the size I am - then this is the size they would cater for - not rocket science.

THE VERY BEST OF SCOTTISH LUCK TO YOU AND HOPE YOU DO WELL.

Just for the record - I am 37 36EE Size14 waist and I love Me and what I look like naked.... yaaahoo!! No complaints from hubby either!

So love yourself and get on with it!!!!!!!!!!!!
