I was told that once raw fruit and vegies had been frozen, they are not suitable for eathing after thawing, because inside they have changed chemically and will make a person sick. All I know is that they turn brown and watery, but it is not suitable for eating?

frozen veggies are fine, stores would not be allowed to sell them if they weren't - many argue that freezing them as soon as they are picked preserves the nutrients better than canned stuff - steam them rather than boil them to get the best flavour/nutritional value

Most veges are snap frozen, so it's not a chemical reaction, just a temperature change. I'm pretty sure that can't be true. They might not taste the best frozen, but they can't be bad for you..

Not true...........ever had a smoothie made from frozen fruit? I have eaten frozen veggies & fruit for years without a problem! Any food will eventually spoil. Just use your common sense.

If you thaw your vegetables at room temperature, it is likely that they will becme bacterial playgrounds. The COULD make you sick. Depends on how they were cleaned or processed.

As a rule, cooking them is safer.

maybe one should use the process of blancing before they store the materials in the freezer.
