Well given my situation I hope someone will have the answer. My family is moving two hours away from everything we know. The problem is, I need to go back to work to afford our new house. My husband works in restaurants, so his hours are never set. How do I get a job with set hours, making at least 14.50 per hour, and guaranteed to be home by 5?

easy. buy a cheaper house.

or, run a daycare from home and charge enough per kid that it equals the 14.50/hr that you need.

so, you are moving to a house you can't afford on your family income. Now you plan to dump off the kiddies in day care so you can afford the house. ( pricey house vs. kids and a basic home, hmm, an which is more important?). Next, you will be posting on this board how to afford the expensive day care and the expensive house. Jump off that 'keeping up with the Joneses' mentality and find something on your budget and live happy (instead of the track of everlasting bills that no job can seem to keep up with).

You can start a home daycare!! That is what I did! I make approx 500 per week. I am off by 530 (you can set your own hours) and I have the weekends off. If that doesnt work for you... try a bank. I dont know what they would pay, but I do know you get off by 5-530!!!

you could work at a restaurant and wait tables during the breakfast and lunch rushes. if you work at a nice enough place, you could earn 14.50 an hour.

or work at someplae like att&t or sprint as a telemarketer. i worked at att&t and earned 14.00 an hour right from the start, plus bonuses.

What about a job at the same daycare centre? If possible. Maybe a cook or assistant.
