Hi there again....If your cat is a pedigreed breeder or for some reason you don't wish to spay her, consider bringing her to the vet when she is in heat for hormonal injections or medication. These hormones will stop your cat from coming into estrus. This is the only other way to manage this without spaying.

EDIT: I should mention that the hormone suppressions should be used as a last resort as the side effects long-term are not in the best interest of the cats overall health. Your vet can discuss the reasons in more detail.

Your best answer is to get her spayed. Why is that not an option for you? (serious question, not flippantly meant)

Another option is something ONLY A VET can do. Cats will stay in heat until, basically...they think that they have had sex. There is a method to fool the cat into thinking she has been penetrated. It is to only be done by a trained vet. When my cat was adopted by me, she went into heat before the Humane Society could get her fixed. (4 week wait) So, they told me to take her to a vet to get this procedure done in the meantime. I do not know the name of it though. I will say it again though ONLY TO BE DONE BY A VET. You could kill your cat otherwise by trying to do something you are not trained to do.

The sounds aren't disgusting....they're just natural. Imagine what she'll say should she hear you in the bedroom with your partner?

The best way is really to get her sterilised. By doing so, you may end up with a more contented furry companion as well. Saves both your sanity really, if the noises really irritate you that much.

If you're thinking about breeding instead, well, it's time to do it.

hope that helps.

get her fixed, why would you want an unfixed cat, there are way too many homeless kittens in the world that get euthanized everyday because there are not enough homes for them. If money is an issue most cities have low cost spay and neuter clinics

GET HER FIXED!!! What do you mean "other then...". She's miserable and she's letting you, her owner, know it and you're ignoring her agony?

That, and why continue to populate the world with cats when 3/4's of her brood will end up homeless? I just turned in a 8 week-old female kitten to the authorities today because of that "Aren't-kittens-cute?" mentality. :(

She will be such a better pet,and you will be happier also.Really its just a once in a lifetime cost that is well worth it.There are little or no cost spay clinics all over the U.S.please give them a call.Start with your local humane society, they should point you in the right direction.

The only reason that I can think of for you not wanting to get her spayed is if you want kittens as well as your cat - I'd suggest, get her spayed, then adopt a kitten - it would probably be a lot less trouble.

Getting your cat fixed is the only answer. Sorry to say.

Ear plugs. For you, not her.

She's just following her natural instincts, and you have one of two options: have her spayed, or learn to live with the noise twice a year.

Your choice.

Nope...There isn't much that your going to do to stop mother nature...I haven't got mine fixed yet and she drives me crazy for about 4 days then it calms down and eventually stops...You just gotta deal with it till you go the $$$ to take her to the Vet.
