Some people do loose weight but you can also gain weight by smoking.
You will loose weight if you smoke a cigarette instead of eating a snack.
You can gain weight with cigarettes. This is because smoking speeds your heart and metabolism and can therefore lower your gluscose levels. When your sugar levels drop your appitite will increase and you will crave more sweets.

I must say, for what little weight you may loose, It isn't worth the lifetime of pain that will come from cigarette smoking. Not to mention, when you stop smoking the weight will comeback almost 2fold or more. It AIN'T worth it!
