I have thick curly hair that's gotten pretty long now, and I'm desperate for a change..however i'm trying to find the best of both worlds (don't we all).. it's been nearly impossible to find a good looking hair style to use as an example for my hairdresser that can look good curly and straight, and you know the only way to get a good cut is with a picture..

does anyone have any ideas as to where I can find some great curly pics? I've tried google already..so please, don't suggest it..
thanks!

I have the same hair... I'm just growing mine out to my hips, it's all the same length... Well, as much as curly hair can be the same... Curly hair is a look, itself. IMO fancy haircuts aren't needed... Layers are good, but so very hard to take care of. Had them when I was 9. I'll never go through that again... ha.
Good luck finding pics. Make sure you go to a good salon. The majority of hair-cutters aren't actually trained in cutting curly hair, as the process of learning is rushed, and the wigs they use are straight...

I have curly hair and I think layers is a good cut. Just make sure the shortest layer is at your shoulder and not shorter. Our hair usually curls up or frizzes, so if you get it shorter you do not want a puffy bob.

I also have curly/wavy hair.the layered look is nice.especially if u like to have your hair straight too.all the sights i have been to for hair styles are bogus.they want you to pay.so i suggest looking at mags specifically for hair.

I think the haircut that is best for the wavy hair is v-layered and long. It's very nice.
