The most beautiful and romantic wedding I ever attended was a Christmas wedding. The bride wore a cape over her dress and one of those muff things that you put both hands in (can't remember what it's called) with her boquet on top of it. The church was decorated with several Christmas trees with all white decorations. There were lots of clear lights. Some of the bridesmaids wore green velvet and the others wore red. It was so lovely.

I think it could be Romantic, but I also think there are lots of ways that a couple can make the Christmas season romantic. I think getting married then is a bit over the top for my taste. The Holiday will always interfere with your anniversary plans and vice versa. Also, keep this in mind. Unless you are planning to elope I am sure that you would have friends and family on both sides that would like to be there for the wedding, but who wants to mess up their Christmas holiday to be there for your nuptials? It is already a stressful time for everyone, why compound it by making people focus on your wedding instead of Christmas for their own families/

Romantic, yes, Practical no. It's not being very considerate of others. This is a very financial time of year and to have to buy someone a Wedding present as well as a Christmas present at a time of year where they have to purchase so many presents, I believe it is too much to ask. If someone asked me to attend their wedding at that time of year I would have to decline the invitation. Can't be that healthy for your own bank account either. Unless you're wealthy.

Only if you like paying a premium for halls, caterers, florists, Church's, musicians and on and on and on
Holidays are for celebrating holidays, not for weddings.
Every professional is extra busy at holiday times, and most peoples disposable income is disposed on family get together and presents.
When will people get over this notion that a holiday is a great time for a wedding? Gads it is the absolute worse!

It could be, but I worry that some friends and family would not enjoy it as they would want to be with their immediate family for Christmas. It is such a stressful time both for organization and money for almost everyone. A wedding would only add to the stress. Sorry to be a downer but that's my honest opinion.

I would say that the most important thing is not where or when you're getting married but to whom you're getting married. This is a decision for a lifetime, instead of the place you officialize it for example, which is only for an hour or 2.

I think they are, my gramma and grampa got married Christmas day and celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary before my Grampa died...its romantic because most people are kinder happier and closer to people at that time of year, it only stands to reason that getting married on what is the most special day of the year for most people, would be the ultimate in romance.

I wouldn't think so.
Too many things going on and getting people to visit/attend the wedding during winter could be quite a hassle.
