this is a universal problem. You can thank those players who feed these birds on course. Open your bag get out a candy bar, etc. and throw some bits to the birds. I have had these birds pull gloves, etc. out of the pockets of my bag in search of food. I think the paint option is a great idea. Any other way to disguise the zip pulls will work. However the base cause is attracting the birds to players by feeding. This is not a good activity because it encourages the birds to become less interested in finding natural food, less cautious of humans and as a result become more vulnerable. You will find eventually that younger birds will imitate their peers and so the cycle continues. Birds on courses, like all natural wildlife are an added bonus to a round of golf. I think we should leave them to develop naturally and not encourage them into an artifical environment.

I gotta be honest with ya... I couldnt stop laughing when I read this question. I've NEVER heard of this and I've been playing golf for 20+ years...

I'd launch my 9-iron at them... but my clubs are too nice for that! The nail polish solution sounds interesting... let us know how it works!

Mate.. I hear u. I had crows actually pull things out of my bag..ie..spare glove and cigarettes. Curious little things aren't they!..lol. I think the suggestion of nail polish might work well. Good luck!

Won't look real pretty, but cover them with duct tape, or a dark colored Velcro tab, etc. to remove the shine that they are drawn to.I guess you could also paint them with a dark colored nail polish, such as blue, a few coats & topcoats too, maybe even to coordinate with the bag.
