Figure out what sex the child is and buy some stuff. Let friends and relatives know whether the child is a boy or a girl and then just wait until you have your baby shower so you wont have to buy a lot of stuff.

I suggest waiting until the 6-7 month mark. That way you'll know the sex (if you want to) and be able to buy accordingly. I know its hard to pass by a baby rack and not pick up something, but its best to wait. It will also give you time to watch the sales papers and maybe get a few bigger things (carseat, crib) on sale. Miscarriage is not a fun thing to think about, but it does happen to some women. I think I'd rather wait till 6 months when the baby could be born alive than to suffer through a miscarriage and have to look at all the baby things that are now useless. Save up your money, watch those sale ads, and shop in the later part of your pregnancy.

Not until after the 12th week. The first trimester is always the hardest. Try to buy neutral colours as that when baby is born relatives can buy the expensive goodies sex appropriate.Buy something small each week and when baby is born you are not up for a big pay out. Doing it this way if baby comes early you have something already just in case.

when I hit the three-month mark and had an ultrasound to make constructive each and everything exchange into stable with the infant, i all started buying gender-independent stuff like diapers. even inspite of the indisputable fact that I knew i exchange into having a tub, i all started buying lots on my very own when I found out the intercourse of the infant at 20 weeks. especially i offered each and all the uninteresting stuff that folk do no longer incredibly choose to grant as infant presents: sheets and undeniable white onesies and secure practices products. Had my bathe at 28 weeks and offered each and everything else i mandatory afterwards. As for "whilst did I actual have each and everything for the infant"...he's 4 months previous and that i nevertheless might desire to run to little ones R Us consistently. So do no longer rigidity too lots :)

Wait a while, certainly not before 12 weeks!
But don't leave it too late either my waters broke 10 weeks early and I wasn't prepared at all!
Check out the forum below for advice on things you will need, there are loads of things you can buy but will not need, bascially all you need for the first few weeks is nappies ,sleepsuits and vests and formula, bottles and steriliser unless breastfeeding (I would reccomend breastfeeding over steralising bottles and making up formula!) somewhere for babe to sleep (and bedding of course) and pram and carseat. You will find other stuff will get brought for you so don't go mad! I have loads of outfits that never got worn as I had so many!
Good Luck :-)

I waited until about 25 weeks, then you know if the baby is born after that time it has a chance of being viable, anything before that not really. It'll save you from the heartache of having to do something with the stuff if the worst happens.

I am superstitious, I would not start buying stuff untill the very last trimester. And then only the absolute essentials. Car seat, sleepers in neutral colors, green, white, yellow.. crib and that was it. Nothing else untill after the baby was born.

you could pick up a few onsies, sox, diapers in a sz 1-2 they grow to fast for newborn diapers and the hospital usually give you some. you can pick up burp pads as they end up stained any wase. a few toys, car seat and stroller could always go on layaway. buy in whites, yellows, and greens. or black and reds. these are nutral colors. good luck i know about jumping the gun and wanting to start buying asap as soon as theres a plus or 2 lines on that test. im dew in a few weeks with baby #5 so i completely understand.

if you have plenty of money and won't need used equipment from friends you can wait but it will be easier on you if you spread it out. we were glad we spread it out because friends gave us stuff (some junk) but there's always something you will forget and if the junk you recieve isnt up to par and you have extra money you can go out and buy at the last minute and you will have the best of everything and get a better price because you've been shopping around. (Sorry about punctuation, I'm holding 2 wk old).
