I THINK IS IS 16

2006-10-20 19:02:16 · answer #1 · answered by tinkerbell 6 · 0 0

Has he had it ie pierced yet, or his he going to...?

Okay, if you mean legally, it depends on the area you are living. The youngest one can be, with permission has gone down to 14, but some places it is 16, and some is 18. Some the age is 18, and 18 at the minimum, no exceptions. It depends on each shop, though. You can check local laws, or call a local piercing shop for sure.

But if you are talking otherwise, like if they SHOULD get it pierced.... It depends on the child on responsibilities. If the child can be trusted, to take care of it properly, then you could consider it. But most 14 year olds cannot handle the responsibility. The aftercare for an oral, especially a tongue piercing is very demanding. The child has to keep food out of the piercing, has to clean it with mouthwash after every time they eat/drink ANYTHING but drinking water. there are risks of infection if the child does not take care of it, risk of damaging nerves, and the risk of the potential damage that the jewelry may cause on the inside of the mouth.

If it has NOT been pierced yet, and this is trying to get insight...and it seems you don't agree...

Do some research:

on the site, here. It has stories, pictures, and on the link below it will supply you with risks. Do research so you have a good argument, for wherever you stand. When you sound like you know what you're talking about(and do), you make a better point and a better argument..

But you were kind of vague, so I'm not sure exactly what you wanted... sorry

I hope someone can help ya. :-)

there is no minimum age by law but any professional piercer would require parental permission at 14.Some clients can expect severe swelling and the bars can become embedded if the correct size isn't used.Once the swelling has receded it is recommend to then go back and have a smaller bar fitted.Oral hygiene is also very important and the tongue bar will have to be brushed when doing your teeth, and mouth rinses after eating to stop food getting logged in the piercing hole.

Frankly any kind of body piercing is a kind of mutilation, and your child's mother does him or her a disservice to agree to it. It is probable that the parlour will refuse to do it if they are told the truth about the child's real age. Also you may find support in the fact that it is bound to be against school rules as it is a potential hazard under health and safety . There was a case recently when a girl of 15 went to school with a nose stud and she was suspended until she removed it whilst at school. The mother appealed and she lost.

It should be 18 as it is seen a medical procedure, it is illegal in this country to have any part of your body pierced apart from ears under that age so this woman is breaking the law but what will be done about it nothing. Any piercing horrify me but on a 14 year old its even worse.

As a matter of principle, I will not allow my child to pierce thier tongue. It is unhealthy and unholy. Culturally, it is wrong. I would rather encourage my child to be different from all others by using his or her dominant gifts to become a model. Why copy others when you can create your world?

I got my tongue pierced at professional clinic when I was 18. They would pierce you if you were under 16 but you had to have an adult with you to sign a consent form.

In Wisconsin, it's 18 period. Even if a guardian is with the person having it done they WILL NOT do it unless the person having it done is of legal age. Shame on that tattoo/body peircing parlor!!

there is no age limit only that if the child is under 16 then he/she must be accopanied by the parent and the parent signs a disclaimer. There are no laws to govern this at all, only local council checks to ensure cleanliness.

Between the ages of 16 and 18. But most palors will do it if the parent is with them. They usually won't do it if they just have permission.
