According to Shariat law what is the punishment for Afzal Guru. This person planned a attack on the Indian Parliament. 10 guards were killed in the attack and at the time there were 100 members of parliament present in the parliament house who potentially could have been killed but the attack was foiled. There are regular news reports that workers in the gulf have had a hand cut for an accident that a gulf native lost a hand, an eye gouged out for an eye etc etc. So is there any punishment for Afzal Guru according to Shariat or is it meant only for infidels?

If he is actually involved in the Parliament attack, I think the most fitting punishment is death sentence, because it is direct attack on the highest democratic symbol of our country.

By the way, there is some doubts still remaining on how the trail was conducted. All the evidence against him was collected in lower TADA court and he was not able to have an advocate to argue his case. High court and supreme court do not collect evidence and base their verdict only on the evidence collected from lower courts. His confession was signed not before any judicial magistrate but it was collected directly by the police. Also his version of story that he was constantly harassed by police and even tortured and asked for bribe needs to be examined. Two police officers who interrogated Afzal is said to be in Jail on some other corruptions charges.

Government should ensure that justice prevail by reordering a fair trail in a more transparent way.

A murder of either fellow Muslims or non Muslims is still a crime against the Syariah. If your country adopted Syariah into their Law, it's probable that the eye-for-an-eye punishment applied. By the way, the term 'infidels' should be carefully considered and interpreted since we cannot generalize those who are not Islam by religion as 'infidels' - since Islam recognises Jesus and other Jews phropets e.g. David, Moses & Abraham as well.

An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. That is the Sharia Code. He killed 10, then 10 of his family must die.

But, with the Muslims, their Laws are meant for the infidels, more than for their own.

He's probably a "hero" in Pakistan, and will be a "Martyr" to the Islamic Nation like the a$$wipes who made the 9/11 disater were to these a$$holes, if the Indians execute him.

muslim law applies to muslims only , non muslims commiting the crime cant be punished by muslim law but they might face muslim retaliation if they attack muslims that are innocent, as islam does punish their own people for crimes...usually if a muslim commits a crime for no reason against a non muslim the muslim will still be punished according to Sharia.
