Contact the attorney general for your state. They will send you forms that you can fill out on just about anything, and it really gets most peoples attention when they get a letter from that agency. I had to do that - the number is in the blue pages of the phone book. I got a recording that told me to push 3 if I needed to file a complaint, 4 if I needed something else, and so on. I did that and left my info. About a week later, the forms arrived and I filled them out, with a narrative of the main complaint, and sent it back to the attorney general. Within a month I had a letter of apology and a refund. Try it - it can't hurt. Good luck.

In my state, we have something called the Guaranteed Loan Authority that handles all the channels the student loans go through. Here it's the "Oklahoma Guaranteed Student Loan Authority," and aside from the statements I get from the bank that owns my loan, I also get montly statements from the OGLA. Check to see if your state has something like that, and contact them. They will be able to find all your payment records. Make sure that the interest rate didnt' change when your loan was sold. It shouldn't happen, but if it did it can effect how much you "owe."

You could also check with the school you attended when you acquired the loan, they will have the number to places like the one I mentioned above. They might also be able to help you track down the information you need, and other people to contact.

Hope you figure this out!

I reccomend talking to whomever you "sold" you loan to. Trying checking out http://www.studentaidlending.com. They've helped me in the past resolve all my student loan issues. Even if you are not with them, they can look up your information and help you resolve your questions. Call them and say that Tory Davidson reccomended you or e-mail me at toryforpresident@yahoo.com and they'll be able to help.
