Sometimes I will just feel like I'm watching everything from far away and nothing is real and I feel numb and unaware. I barely notice things around me and when I do its in a weird, separated way like "There's my dad" "Stand up" "Walk" "Say goodbye to friend"
I dont know why this happens exactly but its scary because while its happening I feel very lost and alone and like I dont care about anything, not even my own life. Anyone got any ideas or suggestions?

In my case. I get this when I am coming down from my manic episode of Bipolar Disorder.
It's very scary and I feel very alone. You are not alone. There are alot of us out here that feel this way.

OFTEN, THIS IS A COMMON THEME IN ACUTE ANXIETY STEMMING FROM DEPRESSION, OR PERHAPS A PHOBIA. ALSO CERTAIN DISORDERS CAN CAUSE THIS, SUCH AS PERSONALITY DISORDER, WHICH IS NOT HOW IT SOUNDS. IT IS MERELY A MOOD DYSFUNCTION. THE ONLY WAY TO REALLY ADDRESS THIS IS TO EXPLORE YOUR REACTIONS TO THINGS LIKE BEING IN SOCIAL SETTINGS, OR BEING UNDER STRESS. EXPLORE HOW YOU REACT TO THINGS TO BETTER EVALUATE WHAT BRINGS THIS FEELING ON. YOU KNOW, WHAT TYPES OF SITUATIONS BRING IT ON. AND OF COURSE FOR THE BRAVE, THERE ARE EVALUATIONS THAT CAN BE DONE WITH A LOCAL MENTAL HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONAL. ALSO, THERE ARE REGULAR HEALTH CARE PROFFESIONALS SUCH AS YOUR FAMILY OR WALK IN DOCTOR THAT COULD DEFINETELY HELP. AS WELL AS OVER THE COUNTER SUPPLEMENTS IF YOU ARE THE TYPE TO STRAY FROM HEAVY DOSES. BUT DON'T WORRY TOO MUCH ABOUT THIS UNLESS IT IS AFFECTING YOUR LIFE. OR IF YOU HAVE OTHER UNWANTED SYMPTOMS. BECAUSE BELIEVE IT OR NOT, ALL OF THESE INCLUDING THE DISASSOCIATION, ARE EXTREMELY COMMON. AND DON'T BE TIMID TO GO TO SOMEONE WHO IS QUALIFIED TO CHECK IT OUT, BECAUSE YOU WOULD PROBABLY FIND THAT IT IS NOT AS BAD AS IT SEEMS RIGHT NOW. IT WILL BE OKAY.

The feelings you get are perfectly normal. We all experience it from time to time. I think insomnia or lack of adequate sleep makes it worse. I'm like that and I do not get enough sleep so I'm sort of in a "daze" all the time. And this sounds so much like you.

As far as not caring, even of your own life, that is an entirely different matter that has to be dealt with, either medically or through counseling. Depression only gets worse with time unless you treat it.

See a doctor and tell them everything you've written here. Your LIFE is very important, for you serve a very special purpose in Life that only you can fulfill. You are unique in many ways, you need to find your strong points and hold on tight to them. Learn to love yourself and develop a sense of well being. Only you can see your beauty from within, others won't see it unless you show it to them. Let your Life shine, and do things that bring you pleasure or by becoming a volunteer like in a hospital or homeless shelter. Good luck!

This is beyond your repair. This is not even psycological anymore. It is a chemical imbalance in he brain. Possibly from previous drug usage or childhood abuse. I'd say look in to the matter with medical attention.

I might not be correct either. But thats my opinion.

Meditate -- specifically Zen... it will help you pay attention

It helps to be one with what you're doing, no thinking and no one observing
