my bro just passed away a few days ago..i don't know what is the proper thing to do with his medicine bag..do i put it with him or what..would like to know the ojibwa way plz can any one help???hint..medicine bag is NOT filled with meds(pills)..

I'm sorry for your loss and the insensitivity that is shown in here at times. This was the answer I posted to your question the last time you asked.

It depends on weather or not you believe he needs them to help with his rite of passage. I don't know if you are Chippewa or Aanishanabe, but if you can't decide go to an elder in the tribe and ask his advice.

In a tradition shared with the Ottawa and Potawatomi, Native Americans, the medicine bag of the Shaman is cremated with him.

The best is to send it with him as it is his personal religious objects.and would be of no use to any other.
Or Contact the nearest Ojibwa tribe and ask either for the shaman or the tribal elder and ask them if theirs still time . other wise do the first .

4. Put it with him.

throw it away or turn it in to the authorities... if you get caught with it, you could be in trouble.
