Christ didn't die because there was to much sin. He died because there was sin, period.
If you go to buy a soda from a soda machine which cost 1 dollar to purchase. It doesn't matter if you put 99 cents or 1 cent into the machine you won't get the soda either way.
If you have one sin or 10 thousand you cannot get into heaven. Romans 3:23 says that the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus.
If you think that is an unfair stantard then let me ask you one question to put things into perspective. Lets say you marry someone you truly love, would you be ok with them cheating on you just a little bit. When we sin it is like cheating on God every time we do it.
I don't follow Christ because He died, but because He rose from the dead. Any one can die but only one has risen.

Dear Terry T,
I must say, you are a person of deep thought and you are concerned about your fellow beings but please read carefully what I'm writing below and don't be offended.
Don't you believe in God's work of salvation? Don't you believe Jesus died for our sins. Can there be a comparison between you and Jesus? Above all, Jesus was and is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.
So dear what you could do is pray and do little penances for others and God will reward you greatly.

I would think you wasted your time. Many people die as a result of others sins, but only Jesus could die FOR our sins because he was sinless.

No you could not have the power to take on the sins of the world nor would you have the power to defeat Satan in his lair. Nor would you have the power to rise from the dead triumphant.
You would be noble but not a Savoir or Holy.

No, I would think of you as prideful and blasphemous.
Only one who is without sin can pay the price for others' sins.

Sorry, but only the Son of God, JesusChrist, the spotless Lamb, was the perfect sacrifice for our sins. So you will die in vain.

We could give it a shot. The most important thing is multi level marketing of this idea. I will be your one person, and all I have to do is get four people under me to get four people under them, and bam, before you know it we are re-writing the bible with your name in it. Now all we need is for you to off yourself, and get the ball rolling. When can we expect that?

People die on account of others' sins everyday. Nothing special there.
