Just explain to him that you told him you weren't a virgin because you were trying to impress him by seeming like you were really experienced. Just tell him the truth. I don't know how telling him you're a virgin would hurt him.
If you don't feel comfortable enough with him to be honest, then you really aren't ready to be having sex with this guy (especially for your first time).
Chances are, you're making a bigger deal of it than it is. I'm sure once you tell him, he'll be fine with it. If not, then he's a jerk and you're better off without him.
Good luck.

First think if you know for sure you want to do it. Having sex is a big step and there can be consequences. Take the time to analyze that and if it is really worth it. Now back to your question I think it is important that you talk to him and you are honest with him. Tell him that really liked him and didn't know what he really wanted to hear but that was before you got to know him better and now you really have feeling for him and that is something very personal and you wanted to share that truth with him. Don't worry he might feel good to know that. A lot of guys feel good about knowing that no body's been so close to you ever as he has.

Do it before you hit the sack - make it into a joke - it will hurt him bad if you don't tell him and he thinks you are rejecting him when you are actually fumbling from your inexperience -and it will hurt you when he takes you for granted or try to push the pace. Please hold in mind that he may also be equally inexperienced and fumbles and makes an *** of himself in bed. having sex like any action takes a lot of learning and unfortunately the expectation often spoils the fun for more than a couple of times.

You need to work out your priority.
If you being 'not' a virgin is the determining factor of him liking and 'caring' for you, then I think you're deluding yourself.
If having sex is the ONLY way not to lose him, then honestly, I don't think he's worth it and you can do better.

Tell him that you were concerned what he would think, but now you feel that you should be honest... It's not a big deal really. Just don't start lying to him all the time about small stuff, or he won't trust.

Lying to this guy is the same thing as lying to yourself . If he really likes you then he will understand that you made it up to impress him. lying only means you have to commit to telling more lies . Do yourself a favor and be true, besides if he cares about you he will be as gentle as possible
Good look!!

Just tell him that you are.
He will understand completely.
Don't worry about it.
You won't hurt him at all.
Plus, guys like knowing that they are with a virgin.
