www.craigslist.com is probably the best. They have listings from all over the world. Just click on your country/city on the right and look down under For Sale for Cars.
There is also autotrader.com
Most cities have a city paper, recycler, and weekly papers or throw papers. Google your city or a major city nearby and 'weekly paper' or 'city paper' if you dont already know the name, then check their website.
Los Angeles has the LA Weekly, Baltimore has the CityPaper and Washington has a Washington CityPaper. Look for something like that. You can also google ' michigan car listings' or something. I think vehix.com does personal listings too.

Maybe try Craigslist for cities in Michigan, or do a search for "Auto Trader Michigan"..."Car Classifieds Michigan" and so on.
