I just got my navel pierced a couple months ago. My best friend is a professional piercer. The time for it to FULLY heal is 9-12 months. It should be feeling less tender within a few weeks, but you will have to be careful with it and not change it for a year. Getting an infection will make the healing period re-start. A little redness and pus is normal. Excessive, or feverish, is not normal. Try to be careful, and dont put new jewelry in it yet. The navel is one of the longest healing piercings because it is a surface piercing and has less blood flow than most piercing locations. Good luck! Oh, and no baths or swimming for 6 weeks.

I was told by a professional that it takes up to 1 year to completely heal. I had mine pierced in March and just changed it out on Wednesday for the 1st time. The guy said I still have to keep a ring in 4 at least a year. It's ok to change it just keep it clean.

Hey, by right any piercing should fully heal as in grow its skin back in about 2 years but for it to stop irritating should take 2 weeks. Make sure you wash with the anti-bacterial wash provided and dont wash over the sink.. the stud dropping into the sink is the most nerve wrecking thing that can happen especially at night. Bet your piercing looks great tho! =)

I think it takes around a year to completely heal but after a few months you should be able to change it and everything.

it takes about a year to completely heal, make sure you keep it clean, use an antibacterial soap (like dial) and i always recomended sea salt wash 3x a day for week or so, DON'T play with it, ur hands are very dirty, make sure u washh them b4 u touch it. and go back to shop when you change ur jewelry to make sure it is healed enough, I always told clients to wait at least 2 mos preferably 6 b4 they changed it.

The navel will heal eventually. The brain cells keep on depleting, however.

I allowed at least 1 to 1 and half months for mine. I did not want any infection. Avoid pools etc. Keep it clean with peroxide and or alcohol. It will hurt for a while but keep cking for infection.
