Hints of reincarnation are common in the history of Judaism and early Christianity. Information about past and future lives is found throughout the Cabala, which according to many Hebraic scholars represents the hidden wisdom behind the scriptures.
There are many passages in the Bible itself indicating that Christ and his followers were aware of the principle of reincarnation. Once, the disciples of Jesus asked him about the Old Testament prophecy that Elias would reappear on earth. In the Gospel of St. Matthew we read, "And Jesus answered them, Elias shall truly first come, and restore all things. But I say unto you, that Elias is come already, and they knew him not. Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist." In other words, Jesus declared that John the Baptist, who was beheaded by Herod, was a reincarnation of the prophet Elias. In another instance, Jesus and his disciples came across a man blind from birth. The disciples asked Jesus, "Who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?" Regardless who had sinned, Jesus replied, here was a chance to show a work of God. He then cured the man. Now, had the man been born blind for a sin of his own, it must have been a sin done before his birththat is, in a previous life. And this was a suggestion that Jesus did not dispute.

There many verses, I just list one; Revelation 20:6.
Here how I look at it. IF a person been dead and the body rotted in the grave and then they Resurrected into a new body, it like reincarnation. Look up the definition of the word. For a Christian, we be in a better body, or whatever. But, it not the reincarnation like the world thinks.

In Buddhism, reincarnation means cycle of life. In Christian world, you believed to live one life only and die, then you go either heaven or hell. In Buddhism, people are born with 108 sins and live through life with it, then die to go to the next step. Next step will be the place like heaven or hell, depends on how you lived your life while you were 'down here'. After you spend enough time in 'there', you will go back as a new life form, which you'll never know until you become something. It also depends on what you did and how you lived in your former life. You might be a human again, or you might be a cat or tree. Of course, no one knows this is true, until you experience it, right? Unfortunately, when you come back as a new life, you won't remember your past life.

There is a similar post to this that i just answered, so ill just paste what i wrote there;
As a theravadan buddhist, We believe in reincarnation, We endlessly get reborn in this cycle of existence, we call it the wheel of samsara. Everyone dies, and depending on the good and bad karma they did in there life, they will either go to heaven or hell, both of which have many different levels. However, the persons stay here is not permanent.
The ultimate goal of buddhism is to escape from this cycle and to enter Nirvana (the final heaven) for eternity, where you arent reborn again. In order to do this, we must gain enlightenment which can take many lifetimes, by practising meditation, accruing merit and working on our perfections.
this is just a buddhists view though..Im afraid i cannot help you with any mention of it being in the bible. sorry..

Well, I searched a few different bibles looking for anything along the lines of reincarnation and found nothing. Although, it does talk about things that could be misconstrued as referencing reincarnation - such as everlasting life, taking a new form, etc. Interesting, though. Good luck and God bless.

I can't say from any religion point of view.
But ,reincarnation is possible.
It is possible that we don't remember what happened in our
previous lives;just like a 35 yr old person does'nt remember
much of the time when he was 8 yrs old,
As a kid when I used to to do something I had never
done before(in this life/birth);I used to remember having done this before.Like any activity like thinking in a certain pattern. Now such things don't happen.(must have forgotten because of the time elapsed)
I guess this is a point strongly in favour of reincarnation.
But scientifically our brain in previous life(let's assume reincarnation exists) is destroyed.
Regards,

The Christian Bible and as far as I know Jewish Bible (torah) do not speak of reincarnation We have onec chance in life. I as a Chriatian do not believe in this. I believe that when I die my soul will go to heaven and at the ressurection (judgement Day) my body will rise from the dead and be prefected and join with my soul

jews follow the bible faithfully (excluding the new testament), and we believe in reincarnation. we believe that some verses in the bible hint toward it, but in fact the afterlife is not explicitly mentioned in the bible and most of our beliefs in the afterlife come from our oral torah, which discusses reincarnation extensively, rather than our written torah.
as well, the hebrew word for life is "chayim" which is always plural and never singular - "lives"

What you've read is written by false teachers. They're everywhere and will mix truth with lies to convince you. Satan dressing as a lamb. Scripture clearly teaches we will each die once phyisically and then rejoin our bodies (newly created) at the resurrection. A great book on the resurrection is RESURRECTION by Hank Hanagraaff at Equip.org or maybe on Amazon. God bless you as you seek the Truth. ~Nise~
