My vet said it is ok to give pepto to my dog. Not a huge amount or anything- I think he said an average size dog could have an adult dose. But, pepto might not be what is needed for gas- did your dog eat something weird? Is it feeling ok otherwise? The pepto would help her tummy feel better, but might not help gas. Make sure she hasn't ingested anything weird that could make her really sick. AND---NEVER give pepto to CATS. It's toxic to them, but not to dogs. Good luck.

My dog has the same problem! It's bad. But I don't think I'd recommend giving her pepto bismal. That would be a vets call!!! I switched dog foods and my dogs isn't as severe.

Most human remedies are not suitable for dogs ,if there is a problem with digestion in general it is most probably an because of an unsuitable diet ,there are some excellent foods available for dogs a dry diet can sometimes be beneficial , speak to your vet ,sometimes a diet by (Hills }or a similar brand like Royal Canine can provide all the nutrients with a minimum of fuss, occasional chicken necks (uncooked ) can help clean the teeth and help with calcium. definitely no pepto bismal.

You need to ask your veterinarian about this, not people on the internet. How do you know that these people aren't just saying you can, but really have no idea if its safe????? Would you really give your poor dog Pepto Bismal based on what people on the internet say???? Jeez, I hope not for your dogs sake. I'm not trying to be rude, but doesn't your dog deserve the best care? Please contact your vet about this question and don't give your dog any human meds without consulting your vet first.

You can give Pepto and Kaopectate to dogs (in small amounts). But try giving her some yogurt for about a week to help get the good bacteria and enzymes reestablished and watch her diet - make sure she doesn't get scraps, maybe look for a different dog food - one for dogs with sensitive digestive systems - lamb and rice is good for a lot - and you will have better luck in the puppy emissions department than Pepto.

never give an animal a humans medication without a vets approval first, there could be a bigger problem causing the gas.
