People don't want to accept, see, or even try to grasp that which they don't understand or can't accept - it makes them too uncomfortable. I don't believe that anyone should try to convince others to believe in what they themselves believe in but everyone is entitled to their own beliefs - or lack of belief. It seems to be more and more these days that everyone wants to challenge everything - oppose everything.. fight everything and just think of themselves as some kind of non-conformists.. all the while since this seems to be the up and coming new trend - they are really just conforming to all of these people who are so lost and without an identity that they take on the identity of those around them.. they don't question things - they just oppose things. Just to stand in oppostion - not for any real reason or personal truth - but just in an weak attempt to try to be different.. These are lost souls - people who do not even know who they are.. When we are comfortable in ourselves and our own identity, we don't need to challenge the beliefs of others or oppose things. We can learn to accept others for who they are - accept their beliefs - it is their insecurities that make them challenge others. You should pray for these people - not let them control you - they are weak and have never learned true acceptance. We don't have to agree with someone to accept them. We all have our own minds, hearts and spirits and we are all entitled to our own way of seeing the world and something greater than us out there ~
People interpret religious figures in different ways.. some people believe in the universe or the stars as something greater than them to help them through and to make them strong, some in God & all other interpretations and forms of God, some in the Holy Spirit - some in something that no one else would ever know about ~ people grab onto things when they need something - someone greater and stronger than themselves in life.. sometimes to get through tough times, to learn who they are, to help explain things, to leave a horrible past behind, to believe they have the power to change - the most important and beautiful part of this is that people believe in something to help them get through.. that they can believe that there is something to help them.. to give them the strength they did not have on their own.
In an attempt to answer your other question, let me say this - some may have that door open for them; that hand reach out to them - and they may choose not to take it because they are not ready to change.. they can't see it yet or don't want to see it there - they are scared of change or fear the unknown. People have to admit that they need help or that they should change in order to change ~ they have to accept that there is a problem. Many people deny that they need anything else to help them through and don't want to admit that they really are powerless - but if they were to, I am sure they would reach out to that door open - like you say you see it open for them.. the Spirit reach out to them. They are sick and suffering - they are still blind, not ready to admit that on their own they are not strong enough.. not willing or ready to change. It takes strength to admit those things so consider yourself lucky that you had the strength to find that in you- to take that last bit of energy that you had and reach back out and let the Spirit in.. you knew it was time.. these others continue to live in denial and fear and may never change.. All you can do is continue to pray for them and wish better things and lives for them and to hope that one day they may see what you were lucky and fortunate enough to see ~ what you were strong enough to see.
You needed this and therefore were open to this happening and let that happen - you wanted to see and believe and you did. Those that are unwilling to do so, will not see and get angry with those that do because they can't accept what they don't understand - it is like being afraid of the unknown.. people would rather not now. Religion can be a very touchy subject - it is very personal but this is also what makes it so special. Even though two people are of the same denomination, it does not necessarily mean they will believe in the exact same things even if their religion rather specifies that they must in order to belong. We all have our own interpreatations.. our own beliefs so if the Holy Spirit is something that saved you, rest in knowing that.. you are very lucky and blessed that the spirit came into your life and that you recognized it as that - you needed a savior and received one.. You believed. We must believe in things in order to see them almost - "there are none so blind as those who will not see" in other words..
People do not like the unknown - some people and some people are thrilled by the possibilities that the unknown may possess. But don't worry about the comments of others - negative or positive.. you are firm in your beliefs and acceptance of such and that is all that matters. It is not so much naivity as it is fear.. naivity as far as not believing in someone elses' personal experience though - or not believing in such a possibility.
But don't be sad - that is giving those negative people the power to control your emotions and from what it sounds like you are a strong spiritual being who has a lot of heart and soul - and a strong mind and the will to change. You have overcome a past that you did not believe in - you were not living true to yourself and now you are - that is all that you need to know and you can rest with that and be happy. You can talk to others about what you went through and how you came to believe and your own personal experience but just like anything else in life, just always know and be prepared that not everyone will want to hear things about our personal lives and religions - not everyone is open.. Some are though so try to think about those people who may have read your message and through it maybe they got some hope or encouragement - a light that gave them the strength to want to or to actually take the next step to change their own lives.. to believe.. to open that door to their possibilities and beliefs. You are strong so you don't listen to the negative - you are powerful in your own mind - let that negative energy go and let the spirit that you have come to accept take the sadness away from you. You have to understand that people are people - with all their faults and while you were lucky enough to leave your past behind and start this new life and new belieft - some are still sick and suffering. Some will always be - so don't be sad ~ you could have helped someone and even if you got 100 negative messages you may have helped just one person and that would be worth it- so that should make you happy.
:o)

Good questions. Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost method the identical factor. The Holy Spirit is there while you repent of your sins & ask Jesus to end up Lord of your existence & you ask the Holy Spirit in. I'm no longer certain the way you inform if a Christian is full of the Holy Spirit as opposed to if they're following the Lord (if they've the end result of the spirit). The Holy Spirit does no longer dictate what Christians do, it is helping them make proper offerings, the option nonetheless continues to be the participants (that's why sin nonetheless occurs) The Holy Spirit doesnt inform men and women to transform to different religions. The writers of the Gospels (or any aspect of the Bible) didnt make errors due to the fact God made the universe and all that's in it and made certain that His phrase used to be proper. I believe many do ask which variation of the Bible to learn, many models are proper, simply one-of-a-kind wordings. I'm certain I didnt get All your questions spoke back however I wish this is helping a few :)

In the Hebrew Scriptures, or the “Old Testament,” there are references to the “holy spirit” and to “my [God’s] spirit.” (Psalm 51:11; Joel 2:28, 29) We read that the holy spirit can fill a person, come upon him, and envelop him. (Exodus 31:3; Judges 3:10; 6:34) Some of God’s holy spirit can be taken from one person and given to another. (Numbers 11:17, 25) The holy spirit can become operative upon someone, enabling him to perform superhuman feats.—Judges 14:6; 1 Samuel 10:6.
What can reasonably be concluded from such statements? Surely not that the holy spirit is a person. How can a portion of a person be taken from one individual and be given to another? Moreover, there is no evidence that when Jesus was on earth, faithful Jews viewed the holy spirit as a person equal to the Father. They certainly did not worship the holy spirit. Rather, their worship was directed solely to Jehovah, the One whom Jesus himself called “my Father” and “my God.”—John 20:17.
Like the so-called Old Testament, the part of the Bible called the Christian Greek Scriptures, or “New Testament,” says that the holy spirit can ‘fill’ a person or be “upon” him. (Acts 2:4; Luke 2:25-27) Holy spirit was ‘given,’ ‘poured out upon,’ and ‘distributed.’ (Luke 11:13; Acts 10:45; Hebrews 2:4) At Pentecost 33 C.E., the disciples received “some of” God’s spirit. (Acts 2:17) The Scriptures also speak of baptism with holy spirit and of anointing with it.—Matthew 3:11; Acts 1:5; 10:38.
Such Biblical statements prove that the holy spirit is not a person. This conclusion is confirmed when we see that the holy spirit is listed with other impersonal things. For instance, the Bible states that Stephen was “full of faith and holy spirit.” (Acts 6:5) And the apostle Paul recommended himself as God’s minister “by purity, by knowledge, by long-suffering, by kindness, by holy spirit, by love free from hypocrisy.”—2 Corinthians 6:4-6.
True, at times the Bible personalizes the holy spirit. For instance, Isaiah said that certain rebels ‘made God’s holy spirit feel hurt.’ (Isaiah 63:10) Paul said it could be ‘grieved.’ (Ephesians 4:30) And a number of scriptures say that the holy spirit teaches, guides, speaks, and bears witness. (John 14:26; 16:13, 14; 1 John 5:7, 8) But the Bible also personalizes other nonliving things, such as wisdom, death, and sin. (Proverbs 1:20; Romans 5:17, 21) This is actually a vivid way in which the Scriptures sometimes express matters.
Today, we speak of the Bible in a similar manner when we say that it says something or teaches a doctrine. In using such expressions, we do not mean that the Bible is a person, do we? Neither does the Bible mean that the holy spirit is a person when it uses comparable expressions.
What, then, is the holy spirit? It is not a person. Rather, it is God’s own active force, used by him to accomplish his will. (Genesis 1:2)

The holy spirit is God's active force. It is not a person. Contrary to what you said, the holy spirit did not belong to Jesus. He poured it out upon his followers after he received it from his Father. See Acts 2:33.

Jesus does not supply Holy Spirit.
Holy Spirit comes from Jehovah God.It is Jehovah's active force. What he uses to get things done.
Jesus is God's Son.At John 14:26 for example,Jesus says to his disciples that he will ask the Father to send a helper(God's holy spirit).
Having holy spirit alone does not save one.Faith in Jesus ransom sacrifice, exercising one's faith by speaking to others, living ones life in accord with God's righteous standards, are some requirements needed for salvation.
Jesus doesnt knock on doors anymore.Jesus is now King of God's heavenly kingdom.Jehovah sends his witnesses to knock on peoples doors alerting them to the need for accurate knowledge about Him,His Kingdom and the many blessing that it will bring obedient mankind.
Matt.24:14 states "This good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations and then the end will come."
John 17:3 "This means everlasting life their taking in knowledge of you,the only true God,and of the one whom you sent forth,Jesus Christ"
So accurate knowlege plays a vital part in ones hope of everlasting life.

The Holy Spirit is a reflection of Jesus asking us lovingly if we will accept him and the Holy Spirit is so kind and not judgemental on anyone, the Holy Spirit is one who cares and nurtures us until the return Of My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who died and rose again for me.

Great explanation sister!!!! Couldn't have said it better myself. The Holy Spirit is the third personality of God. The Holy Spirit is the comforter, connection between us and God in prayer, teacher of the Word, revealer of hidden things only God can reveal, etc....God's spirit.

Can you really expect a non-believer to understand that, though? Not to be obnoxious, but if I was talking to you about the overwhelming influence of Buddha in my life, would you understand what I was talking about? I'm not accusing you of lying, I'm just saying that non-Christians don't understand the "Holy Spirit," have never felt it, and don't even know what it IS... so really, what are we supposed to say?
Edit: Haha, a thumbs down already... I love it...
