Well "wanna_help_u" was very close on this one. In 2005 the most expensive bottle of Champagne was Krug's single vineyard, 1995 Clos du Mesnil at $750 per bottle (see first link below)
But the award for the most expensive bottle of Champagne goes to Louis Roederer, Cristal Brut 1990, Millenium 2000, Methuselah (6L) which sold at auction for a whopping $17,625 !!!
