I'm talking about religious zealots who think they have THE answer to existence. They know the ulitimate unknown. They know who created us and what happens in the afterlife. And if you're a religous zealot and your answe is "faith", explain faith to me. Where does this faith come from? When did you first find this faith? And why your religion over the countless others that have come before? The ones we can trace your's back to? Why does your book prove to you what happens to us when we die? Why do you believe a story told to you by your parents, that was told to them by their parents, and their parents? A story thousands and thousands of years old? A story that simple research will show beyond a shadow of a doubt has evolved since the dawn of mankind? I know what it's like to believe in something. I believe we are a part of something greater. But I don't claim to know it all like many of you do. I don't claim to have all the answers like some of you. What makes you feel you know it all

I never mentioned any God by name. I never, once mentioned Jesus. The mere fact that you assumed I was talking about your mytho- I mean religioin proves you have deep-seeded insecurities about your own alleged faith!

Ha, Rabid! Riddle me this... Sorry, bub. You don't have an answer. I've stumped you. Do you realize your religion is only the latest incarnation of an 8,000 belief system so you have no response but to joke? Silly man.

You know, I don't belong to any organized religion, but I believe very firmly that I know the answers - though ultimately I believe that whatever any of us believe, that is what is true for that individual. People who think they get an afterlife will. Those that don't, won't. If you think you are going to heaven or Val Halla, you are correct. If you think you are going to hell or will simply rot in a box and cease all existence, that is just what you will do.
I have come to my own conclusions in my personal belief system based upon similarities I have seen across the board in the religions I have been exposed to, theories that I have heard that really resonate with me and satisfies all my questions. I have also studied bits here and there that support my theories and have spoken to psychics and channelers, etc. and received a fair amount of confirmation. I swear too that I got a message from my grandmother after she passed away.
The point is that belief and the theory for our existence can come from so many wonderful things. And while my beliefs have gone through (and likely will continue to go through) their own evolution, I am at peace, comforted and empowered by my beliefs and my certainty.
Peace!

Religious Zealots only know what they have been taught to believe in and have not questioned their belief system right or wrong. My religion dates back to before the coming of Christianity. And is one on which The the others are based on. Paganism. The "stories " were handed down in oral form before an alphabet and means of inscribing the words was invented. And the Stories were told and retold by special people with extra sharp minds(photographic memory)and repeated to their teachers until they made no mistakes in the telling.
But that does not mean Ithink I know it all. been working at it for 40yrs and only know a small part yet.

What makes YOU so certain that they DON'T know?
edit: I never said I was a christian. You assumed that with no evidence at all. Besides, you say the faith is 8,000 years old. Maybe there's something to it? If it was so full of lies and stupidity it shouldn't have made it this long, despite the efforts of shallow know-it-alls who have tried to debunk it, and societies who have tried to murder it. Tell you what, here's a joke...religion will still be here after we all die. isn't that funny?

folks who have unquestioning faith in their spiritual concepts possess a wonderful thing. they have security in knowing what will happen to their souls once their body dies. no problemo.
the problems arise when folks assume they know what will happen to other people's souls. how they imagine they are privy to what goes on between another person and "God" is a mystery of ego. i can only assume that such folks can only cement their feelings of security within God if others share their beliefs and those not sharing somehow poses a threat to their spiritual reality so must be converted. they NEED for others to believe the same things they do. they NEED it because they believe in the populace fallacy. "if so many people in the world believe it ... it must be true". and in their deeply honest fear of the unknown they NEED what they believe to be true.

My oh my. how hateful you are. I can see you do not have God's love. It is a shame you hate god so much when all he ask is love from you. will God will love you even if you hate him. As for hell , well god will not send you there because he loves you. You will send your self there. May the Lord forgive you for all your hate. all he ever did to you is to give his only son to die on a cross for your sins . So you could be forgiven. So I am sure since Jesus died for you that is a very good reason to hate him. I gurss I would hate him too. God will still forgive you whot ever you have done to make you hate him so.

No one can take your hand and make you believe in anything you choose not to believe in and we cannot no matter how desperatly we want change you into something you don't want to be....and yes our belief is based on Faith...not fact.... and faith is believing in what we cannot see...and faith is a belief in or confident attitude toward God involving commitment to His will for one's life and I found it because I chose God over Satan...and even the devil recognized and knew of Christ...but it takes more than that to be saved....genuine saving faith is a personal attachment to Christ, best thought of as a combination of two ideas, reliance on Christ and commitment to Him.....Saving Faith involves personally depending on the finished work of Christ's sacrifice as the only basis for forgiveness of sin and entrance into heaven. but saving faith is also a personal committment of one's life to following Chirst in obedience to His commands...Faith is a part of the Christian life from beginning to end, as the instrument by which the gift of salvation is received ...true faith is confidence in God and Christ not one's self...and ther's many things we may never have the answer to...so ,no, we cannot pretend to know it all ....no one can...But I gave my heart to the Lord and depend on and totally trust Him to take care of it....and I don't think He needs me second guessing His wisdom...after all we are mere weak humans made from dirt...that is why we need some greater power out there...to rely on and we do not need to grow over -confident to the point tha we do not need to rely on Him...because He works best in our life when we are at our weakest...II corinthinans 12 :9 My Grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness...If that helps you than I am thankful...If not than I am sadden...but there is nothing wrong with wondering where we get our faith from or even asking questions...God didn't seem to mind when Moses did it and I think He wishes for us to also....and I don't know it all....but I want to learn all I can why I still have a mind and a heart to learn with....but as intelligent as humans seem to be at times...we will never know it all as long as we live in this earthly body....
