I have restless leg syndrome, and thats what happens to me. Doctors are hesitent to prescribe medication for it though until you have documented testing proving its reall RLS. You can obtain testing while ahving a sleep study. They place leads on you legs and body and then record your sleep habits. Whether your legs "jump" during sleep, if your oxegen sats drop while your sleeping. Thats what I ahd to give to my primary md for proof. I was then put on soma which is a muscle relaxant that I take at bedtime, to "quiet" my legs. Its horrible, please get your daughter to her pediatriction asap, it truely is uncomfortable. Until she get to the md, I noticed that hot showers helped me. While I was pregnant I was unable to take the meds, so I took really hot showers before bedtime, it helped a little. Good Luck to you and you and your family!

My mom's friend has that same problem the only difference is she is like 48. I can't remember what exactly are they calling it but the other day I heard that they were doing a study on it and needed people to stay over night at the hospital so they can keep an eye on the person while they are asleep. They are paying people for it too. I am not sure where you are from but I am from Kansas City and if you live anywhere near you should look into it.

As everyone else is saying...she may have Restless Leg Syndrome. My father has this condition. There are nights where he can't even sleep because his legs are so active. He also complains of "crumbs" being on his bed but just recently he said it was because he felt like things where all around his legs. Like bugs or spiders were crawling on him. Definitely ask her about other symptoms she may have and try asking a doctor :]

It's called Restless Leg Syndrome. Ask your Dr. about it. Does she drink plenty of water?

I had this 'restless leg' feeling until I discovered it was only when I tightened my right shoelace snugly.Since I've been wearing the shoe more loosely, it had stopped.

If your daughter has RLS, try cutting out caffinated drinks from her diet, I had RLS and stopped the caffeine and have been fine since.

She has restless leg syndrome. I have as well, it's miserable. When you are exhausted and want to sleep but your legs feel all weird and fidget.............yuck.
