The history of every country is violent, no matter what religion is dominant in that area. It makes no difference! Even if people had no religion at all, we would still have wars and fights because most wars and violence are not about religion but about ownership. Who owns the land? Who owns the water?

Or in case of violence: Who has the money/girl/boy/car/etc.?

Is this a serious question???? The Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, the Salem Witch Trials.... If you read some history you'll find some tortures used by these "Christians" that will give you nightmares and make you puke.

I'll provide an example. The Pear. It was used during the Spanish Inquisition to interrogate suspected heretics. It's shaped like a pear and has three sides with a screw in the center. Turn the screw and the pointy ends expand outwards. This was inserted in someone's mouth, in the anus of a man, or in the vagina of a woman. It could be expanded so far that it would actually puncture the uteris. And this was all done in the name of God. Nobody can bastardize religion like crazy fundamentalists.

The Christian History is Full of Religions.
Violence comes from Religions.
Not Imitating Jesus.
I said Violence (causing) not Defending yourself, or Family, Friends etc.
You have a GOD Given Right to Defense.

No, violence permeates it. It's a lesson we never seem to learn, and God isn't the one doing it. In the sixties, preachers actually used the Bible to say why blacks and whites should not marry. Now, new preachers use the same text to slander and ostracize gays. Maybe someday we will learn what Christian history can teach us, and create some Christian history that is good and loving and gets us closer to a peaceful world.

Yes they were all a bunch of guys with "Friar Tuck" haircuts walking about with their hands folded wearing itchy robes....any other stupid, leading questions?
Jesus said ,'Sell something and buy a sword, you're gonna need it.'(paraphrase)He never said it was going to be a peaceful road, not by a longshot. And later when the "Crooks "(the Papacy)took over there was a lot of violence, especially on "Protestants".

I believe the Eastern Orthodox Churches have much less violence than the Roman Catholic Church. The Eastern churches tolerated several differing denominations -- non-believers were not tortured and killed.

Let's see....hmmm....Jesus is tortured, mocked, spat upon stripped naked, humiliated, made to carry a heavy cross, abandoned by most all, denied by his best buddy thrice, and finally murdered.........what do you think?

And by the way, inquistion was not done by Christians, it was done by catholics TO Christians!

Well, lets see...if you exclude all the torture from the Inquisition and the raping and pillaging from the Crusades - why, a resounding Yes!, I think.
