In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.
The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.
Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.
Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.
Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

Padre Pio (Francisco Forgione and now St. Pio of Pietrocina) saw him on a regular basis because his prayers, faithful life and sufferings (he bore the wounds of Christ's stigmata for 50 years and was in excrutiating pain from it) were responsible for the salvation of so many souls. The devil used to beat him up. St. Jean Baptiste Marie Vianney (the Cure of Ars, France) also saw him. One night before a great sinner came to confession, the devil was so angry at having lost this soul, that he set the Cure's bed on fire. The Cure was unharmed. Both saints were unmoved by his grotesque appearance and menacing stunts. Padre Pio would make the sign of the cross and the devil would disappear. St. Teresa of Avila once said that the best response to his tauntings was to laugh at him. He has no power over those whose lives are holy and humble and who have carried Christ's cross and triumphed.

I personally do not believe in the existence Of "Satan". At least not in the stereotypical way. I believe in evil. Yes I have seen evil.
It is in the hearts of every human.

Romans 6:16
Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?
2 Timothy 2:25-26
25Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, 26and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.
What do these scriptures tell you about Satan working through people?

Yes, everyday...no I have not seen a Red, horned creature with a pointed tail.
let me tell you, satan is very good at what he does...the Bible says he roams the earth to and fro seeking whom he can devour...
Then devil comes in forms of beautiful women or men...or anything that tempts you...the Bible says he can appear as an angel of light....

No but he is real but only because God allows his presence. Otherwise he would not exist in our lives. It is up to us to keep satan out of our lives, another privilege from our God.

See Him everyday...everytime someone treats others with scorn or when racist condem others...when people kill and abuse and harm innocent lives...his time is nearing its end tho and he knows this.....that is why evil is rampaging and tearing at our lives and those we love everyday ....and he is trying to gain as many helpers as he can before Christ comes back to claim earth as His kingdom...Because he knows then that he will be locked away in hell....

Satan's greatest triumph would be to convince man that he doesn't exist.
