what kind of things are in whiskey im allergic to alpt and dont know if i should have it please help!

whiskey or some call it rye is made up of mostly wheat and grains, oats, barley, yeast, sugar,. then its aged and molasses are added... there's also scotch which is similar to rye/whiskey but theirs is made up of premium oats, wheats,malts, hops, yeast, barley, mostly found in scotland and ireland then aged for at least 10 yrs. some go up to 30 year old single malt scotch's ..jack daniels, woodcroft, etc...are american bourbons just to name a few. there basically catagorized in sections by countries... irish whiskey, canadians whiskey, american etc...

Bourbon
In Canada is known as American Whiskey. Bourbon must be derived form a mash containing a minimum of 51% corn.Various brand straight bourbon, straight corn straight rye blended bourbon or blended blended whiskey are the largest selling types.
Labeled products such as blended bourbon or rye must contain a minimum of 51% of the aforementioned types.
Blended whiskey does not have to contain more than 20%by volume at 100 proof, the balance is made up of neutral spirits.

Rye
Known as Canadian Whiskey .
Rye & corn mash with the addition of some barley malt and wheat, is typically used for distilling Candadian whiskey

Irish

Irish whiskey is derived from a grain mash (mainly barley) of which all is matted. Matting is the process in which and moisture are applied to produce the germination of mew shoots and then the grain starch produces a sugar or maltose. The pot still method is used.

Scotch

European version of whiskey. Main contents of Scotch are water grains peat and air.

If you are concerned about alpt it is best to drink a Single Malt Scotch such as Glenmorangie

Whiskey is usually a malted corn or wheat (germinated and then fermented). Aging in an oak barrel adds some tannins.

If I were you I just wouldnt bother with it, because only the main ingredients are listed and a little bit of what youre allergic to may get into it...

There is grain, water, sugar, and yeast which makes alcohol. Many people have proplems with the yeast.
