You really are a kind and beautiful person to want so much for everyone else - to see the possibilities in their lives and to want change for them.. so much it hurts when they don't want it for themselves.. that can be painful and saddening but just try to stay strong and never stop believing ~ maybe one day these people will see you and how you live and want that for themselves.. live as an example and to give the hope to so many others that they desperately need.
People don't want to accept, see, or even try to grasp that which they don't understand or can't accept - it makes them too uncomfortable. I don't believe that anyone should try to convince others to believe in what they themselves believe in but everyone is entitled to their own beliefs - or lack of belief. It seems to be more and more these days that everyone wants to challenge everything - oppose everything.. fight everything and just think of themselves as some kind of non-conformists.. all the while since this seems to be the up and coming new trend - they are really just conforming to all of these people who are so lost and without an identity that they take on the identity of those around them.. they don't question things - they just oppose things. Just to stand in oppostion - not for any real reason or personal truth - but just in an weak attempt to try to be different.. These are lost souls - people who do not even know who they are.. When we are comfortable in ourselves and our own identity, we don't need to challenge the beliefs of others or oppose things. We can learn to accept others for who they are - accept their beliefs - it is their insecurities that make them challenge others. You should pray for these people - not let them control you - they are weak and have never learned true acceptance. We don't have to agree with someone to accept them. We all have our own minds, hearts and spirits and we are all entitled to our own way of seeing the world and something greater than us out there ~
People interpret religious figures in different ways.. some people believe in the universe or the stars as something greater than them to help them through and to make them strong, some in God & all other interpretations and forms of God, some in the Holy Spirit - some in something that no one else would ever know about ~ people grab onto things when they need something - someone greater and stronger than themselves in life.. sometimes to get through tough times, to learn who they are, to help explain things, to leave a horrible past behind, to believe they have the power to change - the most important and beautiful part of this is that people believe in something to help them get through.. that they can believe that there is something to help them.. to give them the strength they did not have on their own.
In an attempt to answer your question, let me say this - some may have that door open for them; that hand reach out to them - and they may choose not to take it because they are not ready to change.. they can't see it yet or don't want to see it there - they are scared of change or fear the unknown. People have to admit that they need help or that they should change in order to change ~ they have to accept that there is a problem. Many people deny that they need anything else to help them through and don't want to admit that they really are powerless - but if they were to, I am sure they would reach out to that door open - like you say you see it open for them.. the Spirit reach out to them. They are sick and suffering - they are still blind, not ready to admit that on their own they are not strong enough.. not willing or ready to change. It takes strength to admit those things so consider yourself lucky that you had the strength to find that in you- to take that last bit of energy that you had and reach back out and let the Spirit in.. you knew it was time.. these others continue to live in denial and fear and may never change.. All you can do is continue to pray for them and wish better things and lives for them and to hope that one day they may see what you were lucky and fortunate enough to see ~ what you were strong enough to see.
You needed this and therefore were open to this happening and let that happen - you wanted to see and believe and you did. Those that are unwilling to do so, will not see and get angry with those that do because they can't accept what they don't understand - it is like being afraid of the unknown.. people would rather not now. Religion can be a very touchy subject - it is very personal but this is also what makes it so special. Even though two people are of the same denomination, it does not necessarily mean they will believe in the exact same things even if their religion rather specifies that they must in order to belong. We all have our own interpreatations.. our own beliefs so if the Holy Spirit is something that saved you, rest in knowing that.. you are very lucky and blessed that the spirit came into your life and that you recognized it as that - you needed a savior and received one.. You believed. We must believe in things in order to see them almost - "there are none so blind as those who will not see" in other words..
People do not like the unknown - some people and some people are thrilled by the possibilities that the unknown may possess. But don't worry about the comments of others - negative or positive.. you are firm in your beliefs and acceptance of such and that is all that matters. It is not so much naivity as it is fear.. naivity as far as not believing in someone elses' personal experience though - or not believing in such a possibility.
But don't be sad - that is giving those negative people the power to control your emotions and from what it sounds like you are a strong spiritual being who has a lot of heart and soul - and a strong mind and the will to change. You have overcome a past that you did not believe in - you were not living true to yourself and now you are - that is all that you need to know and you can rest with that and be happy. You can talk to others about what you went through and how you came to believe and your own personal experience but just like anything else in life, just always know and be prepared that not everyone will want to hear things about our personal lives and religions - not everyone is open.. Some are though so try to think about those people who may have read your message and through it maybe they got some hope or encouragement - a light that gave them the strength to want to or to actually take the next step to change their own lives.. to believe.. to open that door to their possibilities and beliefs. You are strong so you don't listen to the negative - you are powerful in your own mind - let that negative energy go and let the spirit that you have come to accept take the sadness away from you. You have to understand that people are people - with all their faults and while you were lucky enough to leave your past behind and start this new life and new belieft - some are still sick and suffering. Some will always be - so don't be sad ~ you could have helped someone and even if you got 100 negative messages you may have helped just one person and that would be worth it- so that should make you happy.
:o)

So many of you are naive about this Question and really need to wake up to the fact that the Holy Spirit is real and will call you to repentance and I hope real soon the the Holy spirit will convict you of what you say.I believe in the Holy Spirit and it made me see what Jesus really did for me. Now it's your turn to see Jesus for who he is, and that is the Lord of all and most wonderful saviour, King of Kings and the one who died and rose again for all of us.

The fact that I have never felt anything I could call "The Holy Spirit" is one of the many reasons why I'm an Agnostic.

Are you asking whether any of us have ever hallucinated? Or are you asking have any of us ever felt euphoric?
How would any rational person distinguish the "Holy Spirit" from any many other natural explanations for feeling strong emotions?
** edit **
"you feel worthless, and feel you need a savior" ???
So I guess it is the opposite of euphoria then? But still an emotion, and quite possibly just natural human emotion too.

I've been fired from a job because I didn't believe in God, been taken to churches and coerced into saying things I didn't feel were true, had a childhood friend taken away because I didn't go to church with his family, and had my own Christian relatives lie and steal from me.
If that's what you call "being drawn" then perhaps you can see why I reject God's existence.

People have drawn me before and I must say I make a good nude model. But no, the Holy Spirit has never drawn me - I didn't know the holy spirit was an artist.

Uhhh...., if I had been "drawn" by the holy spirit (I'm not sure exactly what that is) I wouldn't be a non-believer. That is known in the real world as logic! You should try to use it once in a while!

that's a lot of judgement worded in that question. are you condemning us for not "seeing the light" after being exposed to christianity?
i've looked deep into many different christian beliefs, been a constant church goer, gone to church camp, and i'm even dating a devout christian.
i believe in a god, yes. but that doesn't mean that i have to accept the christian doctrine as the only way.
how would any christians feel if a non-believer ask the question, "have you been explained why christianity is a hoax and you still believe?"
would they have been met with the same flippancy and humor, or would we be subjected to a rant as to why jesus is the one and only savior and how our souls are going to burn for eternity?
i disagree, you don't have "a good one"
