It really depends. I've heard that some people find it hard to sleep after strenuous activity because their bodies are still in an "active" mode. Kind of like being stimulated by caffeine, I guess. For others, working out doesn't really matter; they can still fall asleep. For awhile I was running at night for about 20 minutes before I went to bed. On most occasions I didn't have any problems going to sleep afterwards. It might also just depend on what you do and how hard you work. I would say experiment a little to find out how your own body works. Good luck.

For me...it depends on what or how much I eat. If I have a light dinner, I exercise 90 minutes afterwards, for an hour, take bath, chill out for about and hour before falling asleep.

if the meal is moderate or heavy, i exercise before or will skip that day. I cramp if Ieat too much or eat heavy and exercise afterwards. everyone's natural body defenses and tolerances are different.

Hm..i think i ran off topic....an hour should be okay...but i'd suggest about 2 hours.

is not good to take extream exercise after taking food(break fast, lunch, dinner). walking an 1/2 hour is better after taking food.
if u wanna get rid of ur extra weight then morning, and evening or 3hours after the lunch is prefferable.

Sure it's okay.

My "issue" was that the digesting food made me feel like I was running thru jello (lethargic). I just seemed to perform better before supper.

it is better to give yourself time to digest before working out. give it 2 hours. But in my opinion, its better to work earlier and not before you go to bed... it may pump you up and have a hard time sleeping.

If you work out too close to "bedtime", it will be harder for you to fall asleep. It's recommended to work out early in the morning, it helps wake you up for the day.
