Does the patient usually provide the food for a live in? She says she does and my mom/in/law says she doesn't have to supply her food, I left message with the original service, won't know answer until Mon.

when a person employs a live in assistant they are to provide food for meals, and also household supplies, clean linen etc....

it should be in the contract with the agency. until you get a definate answer, i would supply food as a courtesy to the live in. once you get the answer, make sure you, patient and the live in know the stipulations of the contract so there is no animosity and confusion. this person is caring for a loved one, so you do want to treat them accordingly. sad to say, some caregivers are not nice to the patient when they feel they are owed or have been slighted by the family.
