I am dating this Marine that I really care for. Recently I had some trouble in my life and needed him to rent an apartment for me. He is more than willing to do this and pay the first rent and all. He even paid a $700 bill I had. When I asked him if he just wanted to move in together he hesitated and said that due to his past exp in a bad marriage that he wouldn't really want to do this right now. I was so hurt! But now i'm thinking: if this man is willing to do this for me: rent an apt and pay rent, he's shelled out money already....well, he must care for me and have feelings. I mean, you just don't do this for a buddy or someone you don't trust and care for. Right? *sigh* What do I think? Does he really care or is he just being nice and stringing me along? Now, if he gets me the apartment, do you think he's going to want to have a key? I'd love to give him one, but don't want to seem presumptuous. Help somebody. What is this: love or a game? Or am I just worrying about nothing?

Don't worry honey, he isn't stringing you along here. He cares for you very deeply. No man is going to help you get an apartment or pay a $700.00 bill for you if he didn't care anything about you. You need to stop worrying yourself with this and just relax. You should also be more understanding of his past marriage. He really is trying to take things slow right now and see where things lead him. You have to put yourself in his place and try and understand how it would feel to get out of a bad marriage and then just move in with someone. It's not as easy as you think it is. This doesn't mean that he doesn't love or care for you. It doesn't even mean that he doesn't want to spend the rest of his life with you. It simply means that he is trying to go slow with the relationship, taking one day at a time. If this relationship is going to work and be a healthy one than it needs to go slow and it needs to be done in the correct way. He's looking out for his heart, and I see nothing wrong with that. Respect this for right now, and keep being the woman you are towards him. You have a great guy on your hands. If he didn't care for you in the least bit he would never have offered you anything from the start. Good luck in your relationship.

He may like you and care for you such as a good friend. However, paying a bill does not mean he has feelings for you. Don't let your conscious thought get in the way of the emotional reality. It does not sound as if he feels love now. Also, if you feel worried, then there is a good reason and you should never consciously go against your inner feelings, because that is when the trouble begins.

I think you have yourself a Marine that cares for you... He's willing to go the extra mile to help you... You asked him to move in with you, and he refused because of a painful incident in the past.

Are you afraid he's setting you up to be a sex kitten or something on the side? Remember you gave him the option of moving in, ie sex kitten without having to commit to a real relationship...

I THINK, not positive, but think that he's helping you out of a tough spot in the hopes that one day you'll be his lady...

Not 100% positive... Maybe like 60%...

well hon if he's willing to help let him, he might just be a nice guy who likes to help people, what did you say his full name and address was? just kidding! but seriously, tell him how you feel, that you understand he's hurting but you don't wish to be hurt as well, and you want to understand where you both stand, if he's not going to be straight up cut your loses and sort your business out, anyhow all the best.
