Hey, thanks for taking a look at this. Basicaly, what I've done, (Stupid I know) Is put some money, into a envelope. A hundred bucks, and Apperantly I was supposed to put it in the bank, and then write a check.

Well, In all honesty, I had no idea. Now, I'm totally scared that I'll be yelled at etc. by my Mum. I mean, She freaking filled the form out, and put the freaking enveloppe right there, signed with the money out on the counter. So What did i do? I put the whole damned thing in.

My question is, Since It's late at Night, Do you think that tomorrow I might be able to go to the Post office that I sent it to, and tell them, what the enveloppe was, show them my Id, passport number etc. that was on that form? Do you think they might give it back? Any ideas? It would really be apperciated.

Please, No ' No You can't get your letter back' answeres just to get you freaking points. If you think you can help, then please do so.

No, No...I Mailed it alright, at the post office. It's closed now apperantly, but IF I were to go in the morning, would I be able to get it back? Like Before they open it? It was an envelope with Moeny inside it. Labeled and everything. I misunderstood the instructions, and I have no commun sence...Got it?

Seriously, You are irresistable when you're a little shall we say a bit frantic. Calm down. Take a deep breath. Haven't you seen It's a Wonderful Life with Jimmy Stewart and his bumbling assistant uncle who lost the $6,000 or whatever the amount was and Jimmy jumped off the dock. Of course, that story goes through such pathos as your story, just to help people like us who make big and little mistakes now and then. You sound really like a pretty responsible person and life around you is just not always easy to tune into because you have your head into something else. What was it? Get to the root so you can then understand and love yourself. You may have some decent reasons why. Maybe your infatuated, etc.

No but seriously, don't get all worked up over only $100. Many folks -- whoever it's mailed to -- may send it back or apply it to whatever it was going to. You can hope it got there safely. Fess up and tell mum. Own up your shortcomings but say how you will try to make amends. Mean it and people will still respect you.

God bless you. Remember Jesus is our saving grace. We can't earn our way to heaven because only Jesus could pay for our sins. We really do need his help daily in our lives-- most of all just to know we're LOVED very much. God can turn all things to good for those who love Him, too. Just talk to Him and ask Him. You might be wonderfully surprised!

Is there anything written on the envelope that would aid in identifying and confirming your identity? If there was an address written on the envelope, contact someone on the envelope and see if they received it. Also, if let them know that "on a slip of paper, is written with red ink" -- or something along the lines of this. A problem you may run into is that if they do have the envelope, if your Mum's name is on the paper, they will ask your Mum to come to the office to claim the envelope.

Whether you get the envelope back or not and attempt to remedy the situation, your Mum will yell at you because that's what Mums do when you do something dumb.

Good luck!

I'm confused. Are you saying you mailed it? or did you leave it at the Post Office? If you mailed it accidently, they won't be able to search all the mail, and there's a good chance it already got sent out to a distribution center since they don't usually sort the mail at your local post office unless your PO happens to be the county DC, so it won't even be at the same post office anymore. But, once I accidently mailled a bill out without putting an address on it, and they openned it up, saw my address and sent it back to me, so if you get lucky, they'll do the same for you. If it's cash and there's no address inside, then more likely a postal worker will pocket it. If you just left it at the Post Office and didn't mail it, then go back and see if some honest soul turned it in. Couldn't hurt.

Addition: Ok, in that case, go ahead and go back and see if they already sent out the mail from yesterday. It's usually the last thing they do at night, so they probably already did, but it's worth a try. When they tell you they did, ask them where the county distribution center is, or where they send the mail to be sorted, and go out there and ask them if they've run across it. And if they can't or won't bother to try to find it for you, you might still get lucky and they might mail it to your bank, since the deposit slip your mom filled out should have their address. If that happens, it'll just get deposited later than you hoped. I won't promise that'll happen -- there is a reason why they recommend you don't mail cash -- but, postal workers tend to be really ethical in my experience and go out of their way to get the mail where it's supposed to go in weird cases like that. Good luck!

It all depends on what type of community you live in.. some small towns, you can be there when they get there in the morning, waiting for them to unlock the door and start their day.. you can explain your situation to them, and they'll commiserate and let you have your letter.

On the other hand, if you encounter some impersonal cold person who doesn't care... they will tell you what you fear the most: No, you can't get your letter back. once it's "in the mail" it's in the mail, and property, until the time of delivery, of the US government. I wish you the best of luck, and hope that you don't get yelled at, or suffer even worse consequences.

You put a bank deposit envelope in a mailbox? Sure, just go to the postmaster's office and ask if it's in the lost and found.
