Hard to say...... in more recent years, it's seemed more common to have just 2 or 3 at the most..... and anymore was a rare exception.
It seems having a big family was more common back before World War1...... while looking up my family tree earlier this year, I found at least one of my ancestors had 10kids!!!! :-o

It is not as popular as it use to be, but nothing wrong with it as long as people can afford to take care of them. If I did not have such a hard time carrying a pregnancy (3 early miscarriages, 2 premature birth with one resulting in the death of my 21 week daughter) I would have had several children.

I hear "three is the new two." Whatever that means.

My mother has four siblings, and she had four kids. Her sister had four. Her oldest brother has three, as does her middle brother.

Me, though, I only have two. One of my brothers has one on the way, and neither of the others is married or has any kids.

I'd like to have one more, but I don't think we could afford it.

course so does the parents Good Luck to you and your husband.
That's why it's called Married with Children.
