Well, there's the issue of forgiveness. These Bible verses talk about how we should treat those who have failed us:

Luke 17.3-4 "Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him.”

1 Corinthians 13: 4-7 "Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."

And here is a comforting verse that promises He will never leave you alone:

Hebrews 13:6 "For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we may boldly say: The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?"

Ecclesiastes 7:9, 21,22: "Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. Also, do not give your heart to all the words that people may speak, that you may not hear your servant calling down evil upon you. For your own heart well knows even many times that you, even you, have called down evil upon others."

Psalms 38:12-15: "12 But those seeking my soul lay out traps,
And those working for a calamity to me have spoken of adversities,
And deceptions they keep muttering all day long. As for me, like someone deaf, I would not listen; And like someone speechless, I would not open my mouth. And I came to be like a man that was not hearing,
And in my mouth there were no counterarguments. For on you, O Jehovah, I waited; You yourself proceeded to answer, O Jehovah my God."

Leviticus 19:18: "You must not take vengeance nor have a grudge against the sons of your people; and you must love your fellow as yourself. I am Jehovah."

Philippians 4:5: "Let YOUR reasonableness become known to all men. The Lord is near"

"And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and blasphemy be removed from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as also God in Christ forgave us. Ephesians 4:30-32

It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes. Psalms 118:8-9

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition, along with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, as many things as are true, as many as are honorable, as many as are just, as many as are pure, as many as are lovely--if there is any virtue and if there is any praise--meditate on these things. Philippians 4:6-8

Is this to increase understanding or used to burn that person? You have to ask The Holy Spirit to search your heart for the true motives of your heart. Peace
