Prove that God doesn't exist. The absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. So don't tell me there's insufficient evidence. Atheists seem to be very scientific. Prove it to me in a scientific way. I'm Christian.

No. I'm ONLY Christian. I am NOT Atheist...I'm just trying to get into a deeper discussion of why people don't believe. I'm trying to see exactly what Atheists so called "proof" is.

I cannot prove to you that God exists unless you are willing to have faith. Without that, I guess you'll never know truly what a life devoted to God is like. It's not "easy" or "simple", if it was, then why would everyone choose it? Exactly. Yeah, it's tough. Atheists choose the easy way out by believing in nothing, most of them are too lazy to really take a leap of faith. Please do not take any of this to offense.

God exists. You want proof, I'll give you proof, do this: Wake up each morning for 30 days and each morning sincerely ask for God to take a walk with you. I guarantee you at the end of that 30 days you will have no doubt in your mind that God exists and He is with you every moment of your life during every breath you take. God bless.

Most religions are based on faith. eg. you have faith that God exist by taking a leap of faith... whether or not he is 100% there, you are not sure but you just believe based on experiences, etc.

if he came out and showed humankind that God existed, christians wouldn't need a leap of faith to believe that he exist, he simply would have a power to 'legal' existence since everyone knows the truth eg. you wouldn't say... i believe in God instead, he'd be like a real person. with power larger than a president to control the whole universe and also a news column to report what he's been up to and what new galaxy has he created. etc. we would have a library, writen by the prophets of God, answers to all our questions without needing to spend wasteful time on researching science's theory on how everything in this cosmo works and how we gonna survive and find amazing knowledge.

faith means that there's no proof to show that he doesn't exist. If one day there is proof that he 100% doesn't exist, then this believe of faith would seize to exist. however some might still continue to believe that he exist as they believe God is something not bounded to reason and logic or humans are too low in intelligence to comprehend the complex nature of god and so.... as a result... faith can never ever be disproved. virtually. because it is based on what a person wants to believe to be the truth.

Science you can disprove through experiments when the theory is deemed to be wrong until you find one that explains reality's phenomenas... but with faith you cannot as it is based on what a person's way of thinking and belief. therefore you can't use science to disprove whether God exist because He is based on faith whether he exist or not.

Here's my best statement on the subject

First, you have to define the term "God." The problem with most theists is that this term is a moving target.

In addition, because there is no evidence either for or against the existence of God, you cannot use deductive logic (a+b=c; therefore c-b=a). You can only reach a conclusion by inductive reasoning using the balance of evidence (90% of A is also B; C is B, so the chances are 90% that C is also A).

I will assert (and others may shoot this down) that the only RELEVANT definition of God states that he intervenes to circumvent natural laws.

If God circumvents natural laws, then it is impossible to understand natural laws. All scientific findings would have to include the stipulation, "it is also possible that these results are an act of God, a miracle, thereby making our research meaningless."

However, since we have been able to expand our knowledge of natural laws (evidenced by every appliance in your kitchen), the scientific method works in this discovery. And the likely conclusion is that God, at least the intervening kind, does not exist.

Additionally, if God is defined as all loving, all powerful, and all knowing, then it is impossible to explain suffering. Either God is not all loving (he acts sadistically), not all powerful (he cannot prevent suffering), or not all knowing (he created suffering by mistake because he didn't know the consequences of his actions).

If God is less than these and/or does not intervene in our existence, then he is either non-existent or irrelevant. The classic argument is that I cannot prove or disprove that a china teapot is orbiting the sun directly across from the earth's orbit. But while I cannot prove this is not true, the evidence against it is compelling.

The evidence against God is equally compelling, and while it is not possible to prove beyond any doubt, it makes more sense to live your life as if there were not God.

It is more compelling to me that humans have invented God to reflect the thoughts of the ruling powers in a particular time and to explain human connections and adoration for one another. Because humans are always looking for reasons, when none are found, it was the natural inclination to declare the cause to be "God" (or gods). As the faith grew, miracles and laws have been ascribed to this Divinity, and an orthodoxy grows up around it.

Successful religions over the long run also are accompanied by some level of economic well-being to the populace. Unsuccessful ones are seen as false because they don't lead to improved lives.

Now it seems unhelpful to believe in such superstition. The only matters that aid in our ongoing well being are work, location, health, sustenance, and pure, blind luck.

So no, I don't believe God exists. And you know what? It's okay if you do believe God exists. Enjoy your faith. We just may not have a whale of a lot to talk about.

i'm in difficulty-free words someone with restricted perceptions, the picture of anybody else. I believe God does exist, yet no longer in any anthropomorphic sense that is in a position to be shown or measured scientifically. This being the most likely rationalization for the a at the same time as old debate, I finish that i will not provide any relaxing answer that would want to convince you both way.

Hi - I can't prove to you that there is no God. I wish I could answer the question one way or the other with absolute evidence.

But, look at it this way - there are people out there who sincerely believe in astrology, witchcraft, ghosts, near death experiences, mind reading, talking to the dead, past lives and UFO's. Do you believe in any of those? Do you have evidence that any or all of them are false? If not, then do you accept them as legitimate possibilities? Do you plan to go out and study them and be open minded about them?

Your right, "absence of evidence is not evidence of absense". But how open minded do you want to be? Aren't you skeptical or non-believing of any of those topics?

And if so, then why?

Well, that's how atheists and agnostics feel.

Does that make any sense?

A

Your question does make sense. I don't think Atheists can prove that. But i do think the burden is on us Christians to prove the he does exists. There are so many examples of the existence of God. A good book is Case for Faith, you might have read it. God Bless.

It's so funny that you asked this question. I just ask a very similar question asking for scientific reasons on why God/Jesus doesn't exist. Not one person could give me one scientific reason. I got some good views on why they don't believe in God/Jesus but no proof. They turned my question around and said that they didn't have proof that he does exist. They also said that we use God as a security blanket. You should check out my question. It's probably on page 3 by now but it still might be on page 2. I'm guessing that you will probably get the same answers that I got. Anyway; good luck & God bless.

Okay, if you want to play the game, then prove to me no other gods exist. Prove to me that Mohamed wasn't the chosen son of God rather that Jesus. Prove to me that aliens don't exist and that they didn't plant our species on earth as a social experiment. Prove to me that the whole idea of religion wasn't just some scheme cooked up to gain and sustain power over others. In your own words, absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

In science, the burden of proof is on the one who says there is existence for, as you have pointed out, making the case for non existence is very difficult, if not impossible. Such a proof would require a vast expanse of knowledge that we don't have.

Yes, atheists and many others are scientifically minded. If you are going to play with science, learn the rules first.

You're asking people to prove a negative. The burden of proof is on you if you want to go beyond faith and try and prove Gods existence scientifically.

I could not prove that God does not exist any easier than I can prove that unicorns do not exist. It's an interesting question, though. Does that mean that God and unicorns exist simply because nobody can prove that they do not? I don't think so.

I prefer to say that as long as somebody thinks it, than it exists, if only in that persons mind. You can't really disprove somebody's thoughts.

I won't try to prove a negative, it's logically impossible. Can you prove to me that Zeus doesn't exist?

By the way, which God are you referring to? If you are Christian, I assume you mean the God of the Old Testament. Do you really think the Old Testament is a perfect description of the real one God of this universe? It boggles my mind that rational people can believe in that jealous and petty and sadistic character.
