What are the pros and cons of campus wear for schools?

I'm in high school and I have to write a persuasive essay over the pros and cons of "campus wear" or uniforms for next year when our school adopts this new policies so if you could tell me which you think is good or bad and why that would be very helpful thankees

I think the positive side of school uniforms or having everyone dressed 'alike' is that it cuts down on the jealousies between the 'haves' and 'have nots'. With all of the different designers and makers of clothes plus all of the 'hip places' that clothes can be bought like Old Navy, The Gap, etc. that shows the price range of clothes and accessories that the kids are wearing, it gives the kids whose families have it a little tougher making ends meet not stand out from the rest of the kids. On the negative side, the same families that have a tough time keeping their kids in expensive clothes with money they don't have so their kids won't be different will be in the same spot with having to buy expensive uniforms and matching accessories. If the school wants to pick up the tab for EVERYONE'S school-clothes, fine. If not, let parents buy at Wal-Mart or whatever they can afford. Since parents have to pick up the tab for most school supplies their kids HAVE to have anymore instead of the schools furnishing things like that the way they did when I was in school, who the hell can afford to care what kids WEAR to school?!? Thanks for asking that question and giving me a chance to voice my opinion on that subject! Thank God my 3 are finished with school and I have friend younger than me with kids still in school that can't enjoy their summer for worrying about the start of school.

-You don't have to think as much about what you are going to wear

Cons:
-You dont get to express individuality
-Everyone looks the same and the school looks so bland

Pros- Everyone will look the same, Less violence, less gang activity aka showing colors, high productivity of students

Cons- loss of identity, loss of originality, loss of uniqueness, loss of freedom
