I personally can not picture a world without God/Jesus, but for those of you who can, please give me good scientific reasons why you don't believe in God/Jesus. (please no nonsense answers!)

I know you addressed your question to non-believers, but I am a believer and I just wanted to let you know that there is no amount of science that could ever explain God & Jesus away. There is no evidence or proof, scientific or otherwise, even to this day, that shows that God does not exist.

People who try to explain it away by saying that if God is such a loving God, etc then why are there all kinds of diseases and starving people in other countries or why should they believe in a God that would send people to hell, etc. simply don't understand Christianity and God at all. A little reading of a Bible and some theological research never hurt anyone. In fact, it might make the world a little smarter on topics of God and Christianity instead of believing or talking about something that they think they have enough knowledge to form an opinion on when in fact they really don't.

Check out the links below. The last one is the site's main page. It's a very interesting site and you can learn a lot just by looking around at various topics.

This isn't a scientific reason but a historical one: if jesus lived and died between 0AD and 33AD and he is the one and ONLY means of salvation, what happens to the people who lived before 0AD?

Also how does a kind and forgiving God justify eternal pain, torment, anguish and suffering for something as simple as having premartial sex or masturbation (which I think are mortal sins)?

Finally, the Christian god is a hypocrite. On one axis, he is the avenger and the judge, meting out harsh and heavy handed judgments like candy (think old testament and revelations) while on the other hand, he is the most loving caring and forgiving being in the universe (all the rest of the new testament). So, which is it, stern or forgiving? Because when the judgment is eternal, there's no time for a second ruling...

However, I do accept a God, just not yours.

I'm going to try to give you a decent answer, although I don't know a bunch of scientific reasons. I guess the easiest way to explain it is that...well you believe in God and Jesus and I don't. You have a very strong belief and faith (which I admire, I wish I could, but I'm just sceptical)...but I've never seen God or Jesus, I've never seen any proof that they exist and people telling me that they exist and that I should believe in them just isn't enough. I'd like to believe in God but one thing that I have a hard time with is the pure evil that is on this earth, mostly involving children. I just don't understand how a decent God could allow little kids to be raped and murdered and tortured while some people who are comple jerks never have anything bad happen to them. I know that bad things happen and are maybe even necessary, but I just can't accept that God would allow true evil to harm innocent children. Anyway, I hope this isn't a bad answer, as I said it's not at all scientific, it's just some of the things I think about.

Thats well you suppose nonetheless however probably thats a signal, considering that God desires you to get nearer two him he places a few type of risk within the household i do know its rough. U shouldnt consider responsible becuse your slightly getting began i dont realize in case your catholic or christian however take a look at getting truly int the faith like i imply well-nigh finding out it im catholic so i could say move to church each and every sunday and if you have time over the weekday do the equal. God loves you it doesn't matter what however getting towards him might be even higher and upgrade your existence to. You won't continuously get what you desire it takes tme, evryone has theres doubts as soon as in a at the same time so its traditional however while you begin finding out extra of God and having extra religion there wont be indisputably to your brain of some thing, Pray move to church not anything is unattainable for God NOTHING! GOD BLESS AND GOOD LUCK! =]

You don't understand the concept of not believing in God, do you? Just as you cannot picture a world without God, I am certain that there IS no God. It's as simple as that.

I also assert that it takes more strength to do so, as my support is what I can ascertain with my senses rather than a mindless horde of like-minded people who read scripture like lemmings and condemn everyone else.

If you want a scientific reason, how about "I think, therefore I am." If I do not believe in God, why do you insist that I need a specific reason not to? Deification is not a self-evident trait in my consciousness, and simply seems silly.

okay, all God and Jesus do is offer hope, like the many other religions that happen to not involve them. But, i suppose, your looking for scientific answers, not beleifs in other religions. I can give you scientific reasoning and historical reasoning. Scientific-big bang and evolution are sound theoretical principals. However, the mass that began the big bang would need a catalyst. That would involve deism, who's subscribers are some of the worlds most influencial philosophers, dating back to Jefferson, Locke, and even Isaac Newton. Deism beleives in a higher power, or supreme being, if you will, much like agnosticism. Not necessarily god, let alone the christian one, and no jesus at all. Religions happen to have the quality of declining in a more educated society. As the reformation allowed education to expand, Europe slowly decreased its beliefs and is today largely agnostic itself.
Moreover, the Bible itself happened to be largely the fabricated order of several real historical books by Constantine, a Roman emporer in the 4th century, ad. Constantine chose the order of the bible and threw out books he did not like in order to support divine rule, used centuries after. Furthermore, the Catholics, and I do apologize if you are one but this is the truth, have for centuries corrupted meanings, discarded important books, and corrupted characters. As you can see, the true meaning of christianity has been lost. There are valuable aspects, such as the laws and institutions but most of the stories have little or no factual content, not proven in the least.
So, as you can see, God and Jesus are a bit of a fabrication, though I do not doubt the high possibility of Jesus as a man who taught valuable lessons or a supreme being. In the Christian sense, they are, more or less, lies. Their current images, a sham. Used for centuries as a shield for morally decadent and wrong behavior, for rule of monarchies, for insensless slaughter, and, even today, for conservative thought and political manipulance.

Heres another thing, most religions borrow ideas from others and incorporate them into their own. For example, in christianity, the trinity is borrowed from Hinduism, our images of God and Jesus are borrowed from Greek mythology (Zues and Hercules), creation and flood stories are similar to nearly every culture, and much of the entire religion is a continuum of Judaism.

I find it impossible to believe those old fables, myths, and stories that have been made up and passed down and changed and twisted over the centurys. Science doesn't always get it right but when scientists are proven wrong they accept it and move on, always seeking the truth and the right answers. With religious people everything is written in stone and can't be changed. If someone could PROVE that God/Jesus exists or existed I'd be happy to believe. No one has come forth with any proof yet.

Well.... if there was a god why would so many bad things happen....most religions were based off others....religion is just trying to make people be good.... A god figure is to scare people into being good...Lastly religion was invented to explain things science couldn't (example) how the sun rose a man of a chariot took it across the sky.... but now these things can be explained by science so most religious facts are irrelevant

My reasons aren't necessarily scientific, but if God and Jesus proved they exists, I still would not worship them. Worship has no inherent purpose but to feed your insecurity and desire to love. The way I see it, nothing matters, and I'm going to live my life the way I've learned to see it. As for Heaven and Hell, I don't think bliss and suffering are that big of a deal. It's all chemicals and natural selection. It's all very meaningless.

Ask yourself: do you feel the depth of your past? Doesn't it all feel like nothing? Like a moment from yesterday? An eternity is still just one second to me. I just want to grow old and die and that be it. I don't want to be servant to my own needs and wants forever.

I am sure because I understand why some people need to believe in god. They are frightened and they need someone to comfort them. They are insecure and they need something to make them feel that they are better than others. They don't understand why things are the way they are and they want to believe that someone is in control. They feel that they are not getting their due and they need to feel that they will be rewarded eventually. In the beginning man created god.

I am not frightened or insecure and I feel that I am responsible for myself. I don't deny you your security blanket, if it helps you sleep at night. I sleep just fine without one. That is why I am sure
