If Christians don't have the same beliefs as the Jewish, why is the Christian faith based on the worship of a Jewish figure?

The Jews were chosen by God to create a nation which would glorify His name, and bring about the coming of Christ. They fulfilled this duty with the arrival of Jesus.

Jesus fulfilled the Law and created a new covenant between God and mankind. We do not worship a "Jewish figure", but God the Father, whose son is personified in Jesus.

Think of it this way: All of the things that happened between Adam and Eve, and the arrival of Jesus, was God creating a means for mankind to get a chance to redeem himself. This is what Israel (the Jewish nation) was originally chosen for.

Now we wait for Jesus to come back.

The Organized Christian Religion broke away from the Jewish religion.

I personally believe Jesus expected everyone to keep the basic Jewish faith, but Constantine decided otherwise. Everyone else sort of followed his lead.

There are a FEW Christian sects that embrace a lot of Jewish traditions and rituals, including friday night as the start of Sabbath.

I, myself, find myself looking more and more into the JEwish aspect of JEsus, but I'm not going to become Jewish, I'm just going to incorproate more of what Jesus would have done, being a JEwish person.

Jesus, technically, was both Jewish and Baptist.

I'm sorry this may be an incredibly lame question but what Jewish figure do we worship?

And if your talking about Jesus the reason we worship him is because he is considered the Messiah and in the Jewish religion he was not.

If He had wanted to he could of used the Swedish.God chose the Jew to be not only his record keeper(Paul calls them "Oracles")because of their attention to detail and getting it right, but also to be the "human " part of His chosen plan. Why? who knows the whole answer? But He did .So when God the Son,took on a tent of Human flesh he was born an orthodox Jew,to a woman of the tribe of Judah. We don't worship Jesus because he's a Jew,but because He died for our sins, was buried and raised for our justification. One problem unbelievers have is they don't realize Jesus was God the Son(an anthropomorphism)from eternity, and took on human flesh. He wasn't just born the son of God,he already was .Like he told the Jewish leaders"Before Abraham was ,I AM(Abraham was 2000 yrs before Jesus, and notice He didn't say "I was" but "I AM",the same words he used with Moses "I Am that I AM")He's always been.Alpha and Omega ,the beginning and the ending.

Well for starters Christ our Savior is not a figure...He is God come to earth as a full human being who did no sin and who died for our sins....and conquered death when he arose from the grave...and that is where Christianity started was with Jesus our personal Savior...maybe you could try reading the Bible rather than having someone else look up all the info for you.... to try to prove to you something that you obvious know so little about....and for another thing...John 3 :16 says that God loved the whole world...not just certain people...and offers Salvation to all the world...and the Bible is and always has been based on Faith...Not Fact...if it is facts you are seeking go buy youself a set of britannica's...but if it is salvation you seek then I would gladly point you to Romans (also known as the book of salvation)the choice is yours...but do not expect us believers to not defend our Lord and Savior,,,because I for one will be doing it...

Christians have similar beliefs as the Jews do. While Christians focus on the writings of the New Testament, they do study the Old Testament as well, just like those fun loving Jews

Christianity is the fulfillment of the promises in the Jewish faith of the messiah...

Oh, just read the book, for cryin' out loud! It's all in there!

Yes; Jesus was Jewish and he also died Jewish, but Jewish people would not and still don't except him as their messiah. Christians on the other hand did except him as the holy messiah. The word Christians means "in Christ"
(Christ-ians).

That doesn't make any sense. What Jewish figure? Are you saying Jesus is a Jewish figure?

Good question.
Simple answer.
Jesus was Jewish...so He worshipped God
He died for our sins, we worship Him

The Jews have rejected Him from the beginning because they thought the Messiah should come from the tribe of Levi, not Judah.
