I have a friend I've had for a long time, and he's always let it be known how much he loves me. He is a very kind, sweet, man and I know he'd be romantic, chivalrous and wouldn't be the type to cheat. The problem I'm having with taking our friendship further is his obesity. I don't mind a man with some meat on his bones, I think the guy from King of Queens is HOT!!! That sort of "big" isn't a problem for me, but my friend is WAY bigger. He's on medication for high blood pressure, has sleep apnea and needs to wear a c-pap at night.. and honestly, I can't see myself getting any sort of physical with him. Would u date an obese man? Is there any way I can get over this? Am I superficial? Help!

Personally, I wouldn't. I'm not being superficial, I simply am not attracted to obese people and the physical aspect of a relationship is important to me-not the most important, but important nonetheless. You need to focus less on the fact that he is obese and more on what is important to you in a relationship and if this man doesn't fit the bill then the simple answer is he is not right for you. Period.

I would chose bald over obese any day just because being obese is unhealthy. In fact some guys with shaved heads look very sexy!

a relationship has 2 parts emotional and physical, you could love someone and care about them , however if there is no chemistry or you are not attracted to them in a physical way, i do not think that is superficial, you have to be fair to yourself too, then you are friends. i have met girls i thought were nice but not that attractive, however after we hung out and spent time together, i thought they looked better, maybe because we were at a bar and i was drinking alot(just joking). i think you can grow to love someone or find them attractive, for me personnally a thick girl i could maybe be with but a huge sloppy girl no, but thats just my opinion do what you feel comfortable with now ,AND in the future

No. A huge part of a relationship is physical attraction. You have to have that spark, that fire that gets you excited to be with that person. Sounds like he's a great friend, who means a lot to you. But if you're not physically attracted to him, then don't stress over it. Enjoy the friendship.

I have dated an obese man, it was no different then a man that was overweight, just more! Don't look at the package look at what is inside and then take it from there

If you can see yourself with him on an emotional level it's worth the exploration. Maybe you would be just what he needed to change his life for the better. Ask yourself this question....If he lost all the weight would you question it then? Would you regret it if he lost all the weight and you lost your chance?

well, if you're falling for him, then you should be falliing for his personality. maybe the obesity issue is something you can both work on together - you can work out together, diet together...use that to establish a better relationship with him.

Yes I would date an obese man. IF u want to get physical u still can. Besides if u love him then sex wont matter to you, as they say love conquers all.

Im not saying cheating is a good idea... But if u get desperate enough please be careful if u cheat
